I have never bought one, since the cost savings are minimal. 3D printed PLA+ or PETG lowers if designed correctly can last thousands of rounds, but do degrade over time depending on the storage conditions. I wonder if these commercial lowers suffer from the same issue?
I agree, I know several acquaintances that went out and bought Gucci Glocks and mid to high tier ARs that are now effectively paper weights. I would want at least a few hundred rounds on hand for any new gun, what fun is a new toy if you can’t play with it?
In this market you have to “take what you can get and don’t throw a fit“ as my kindergarten teacher would say. A friend was looking for a pump mossberg, but ended up with a citadel warthog auto loader. So far it’s been really reliable, the cheapest 590 on gun.deals is 589.99 for the bare bones...
I feel like we have made great strides over the last few years in Indiana, but it is hard looking at the other states with constitutional carry and not getting disappointed. I think realistically it will take a few more years before our state legislature sees the light. Though, I still...
The problem with the whole p80 debacle is the uselessness of any law that doesn’t outright ban self manufactured arms. With the proliferation of cheap and accessible 3d printing, anyone could make a lower receiver with only a few hundred dollars in initial investment. It doesn’t take an engineer...
If you have a Fry’s nearby they can have some good deals on filaments. I try not to cheap out on mystery filaments anymore. I’ve never found a place with a good selection of parts, but I only have ender 3’s so your mileage may vary.
I really like Dunham’s, especially when I was younger. They are a chain, so you have to deal with corporate policy. The employees also are probably not gun people, so they will not be open to suggestions or interpretations. I’m with you though on the gift thing, as long as it’s a true gift to a...
I remember $55 dollar 500 bulk Winchester at a local gun store in 2013, though back then i could still shoot 9mm and .223 for reasonable prices. It seems like 22lr is always the first thing to go and the last to come back into stock.
