IMO Glocks are for carry (and range to keep up on skills), 1911 in .45 is for range and home defense.
If you don't like the way a Glock angles and points, then don't get a Glock. It's just a thing. Personally, I like Glocks. I have a hard time shooting some other plastic guns that just point...
I think it's awesome when women do competitive shooting, and I encourage my daughters, but I have zero interest in it. I like shooting and I feel like we go shooting often compared to other people, but I'm just not interested in it myself. I played competitive sports and was very good up through...
I just use a regular belt. It's fine because the gun I carry is lightweight, anyway. If I were carrying a bigger gun, I'd get a gun belt.
I have tried so many holsters, but I always come back to either a kydex hybrid or a stiff leather holster IWB. I also like the Crossbreed purse carry...
I'm left-handed. Crossbreed's purse defender can fit into a regular purse and can be ordered for lefties. I like mine a lot. I got a CC purse at Cabela's that is ambidextrous. It's ok.
I have a Can Can and it's comfortable, but actually more trouble to put on than a kydex hybrid, and it does not stay put as well and it does not offer the same type of consistent draw. I can pull the trigger through the fabric, I don't like that at all. A holster should protect the trigger IMO...
I took an NRA basic pistol course that covered all the basics. Pick a close range and check it out, I think there are many people who offer the course. Places that other people have mentioned are fine. There are women-only courses but I don't think that's a big deal unless she really wants that...
Tiny is nice to carry, but when you are new to shooting a bigger pistol is usually a lot more user friendly. Even though at this point I have shot a lot, feel comfortable shooting, and can shoot pretty well, I still sometimes get jamming issues with tiny guns because of limp-wristing. All it...
I think what's most important is that it's a gun you'll actually have with you and that you know how to use. My own "best carry" has changed a lot with my capabilities and concealment needs. I would love to be one of those people who carries a .45 and is awesome with it, but realistically I'm a...
I have to go there sometimes for work. I have a special pen with a top on it that would hurt if I were somehow able to jab it against someone. I bought it at the NRA convention a couple of years ago. It's better than nothing, I guess. Other than for work, I basically just don't go to Chicago.
We have been calling it the "preemie."
Funny enough, I was enjoying the 42 a whole lot when comparing it to other tiny pistols, but then shot larger guns for a while. Then when I went back to it the 42 felt so harsh in comparison to the large metal framed hammer fired guns. I thought it was...
