      Son's first knife

      The Buck Redpoint is a solid little safe handling knife for $20. It has a good lockup, awesome grip and even a bottle opener. On the flip side, it's kind of goofy looking (kids may love the look though) and made in China.

      Not a big fan of Sog...

      I won't own another SOG after owning the Trident folder. It had a lot of side to side play and no matter how often I tightened the pivot screw it would end up with play after just a few openings. I own a Fusion tomahawk but it does duty as a possible skull splitter near my bed.

      I can't say that I'm a huge Cold Steel fan but I have a knife of theirs called the G.I. Tanto. It has to be one of the best values when purchased with the kydex sheath. Around $30 I bought a knife that can take any abuse I could throw at it. While heavy, it would make a great knife to keep...

      Where to start...

      Can't really go wrong with a Delica or Endura, especially with the wave feature. As far as a reference website? I check out YouTube to check out the knives in action. It's not the same as having them in hand but fun to see other's opinions.

      I've never put mine through any tough situations. It's good to know that it will perform if/when needed. Prayers out to all of those affected by the storms.

      So, I got my new knife today

      Kershaws are beautifully tight knives. I pulled out a leek the other day at the office to assist with opening a bag and my co-worker was taken back by the speed in which it opened. She was convinced it was a switchblade. I can't say that she is that far off. Have fun with your new knife.
