      Tactical Pens?

      I also have a CountyComm Embassy pen. It would make a useful weapon in a pinch, but I mainly bought it for its heft and durability. I like the Jotters too. I have a few at work and one in my BOB.

      Free topographical maps online from USGS

      There are free USGS topological maps available for download as PDFs at http://store.usgs.gov. Their map locator and downloader is a Google-based map of the US that you can zoom in on any area, and see what coverage they have.

      I went down to Bicknell to shoot with my dad this weekend, and I took the opportunity to put the first 100 rounds through my new Ruger SR9c. I was very happy with it.       I'm not sure that you can blame this one on marijuana. It sounds to me that there's some more serious problems with his upstairs wiring.

      Looking for advice on a pack

      The 3-day pack from LA Police Gear that I just bought has a pocket for a hydration bladder. The pack itself was inexpensive, and seems to be fairly well-built. I'm re-packing my BOB into it.

      What handgun do you carry?

      Thanks! The SS is essentially a scaled down 1911 in .380. For a small gun, they have grips with a large left side thumb swell that fit my hand well. I liked it, but I wasn't really a fan of the caliber.
