      Buying a Short Barrel

Hello, I read through the FAQ on the NFA thread and didn't find the answer, so... I want to buy an AR-15 short barrel, not the whole gun. Does the paperwork require a serial number of the barrel, the whole gun, or is there no 'tracking' of the actual pieces? thanks

      A chamber question...

I was looking at the long guns sales section and found this... "New England Tracker II single shot 12 gauge, 3 inch chamber, 24 inch fully rifled barrel..." It made me realize I don't really know what a 'chamber' is or how it works. (I know that sounds completely asinine, but there it is.)...

How do these changes affect the gun?

This is from the Buy, Sell, Trade section... https://www.indianagunowners.com/forums/handguns_pistols_and_revolvers/177262-3rd_gen_glock_19_exo_w_extras.html "....3rd Gen Glock 19 Exo....Has a ghost 3.5lb connector, Wolf 4lb firing pin spring and heavier trigger reset spring from Glock...

Sat the 24th Bowling Pin at MCFG

I had an excellent time! This was just like the Steel match; good time, great people, and lots to learn! Did I mention great people? I met a guy at the gate who was politely astonished that I was going to shoot my first match with gun I've never shot. One of the organizers was nice enough to...

Looking for a specific ballistics review site...

Awhile ago I came across a site that reviewed a wide range of ammo, velocities, and I think, accuracy. Now I can't find it. This site had video and the reviewers (I think there was three of them) actually used a chop saw to shorten their barrels. They had a chronograph, and numerous coolers...

      Auto vs. Pump Shotgun

In this thread it was made clear that shotguns are not simple. https://www.indianagunowners.com/forums/long_guns/166318-determining_shotgun_patterns.html Which is pretty much confirmed by this link: Shotguns / Understanding Shotgun Shot Patterns Benelli makes an auto shotgun for the military...

      Determining shotgun patterns

Is there a formula to determine a shotguns pattern? Such as: (barrel length) + (round type) + (choke) = 2 feet across at 10 yards. (Something like that?) Whats the standard wisdom on figuring the effect of a round at varying ranges? If I have 00 buck, how close do you need to be to keep the...

      Accuracy question. (.22lr in a 5.56)

I have a DPMS 5.56 with a CMMG .22lr conversion kit shooting CCI Stingers. With the .223 rounds the rifle is very accurate, but when shooting the .22lr they literally spray all over the place. At 50 feet while bench rested the pattern looks to be about 4 feet across. Is this because of the 1:9...

Shooting on your own land; a question.

Hello there. I searched around and couldn't come up with a solid answer...(that certainly doesn't mean that this hasn't been covered, I'd be really surprised if it hadn't.) So... What are the land requirements to shoot on your own property? Outside city limits is the only one I'm sure of. But...
