Where are all the XDM or XD owners at?

I have sold off my Glocks and replaced them with a XD in .45 and a XDM in 9mm. As a caster I want to shoot cast when ever I can and both my XDs love a lead bullet. I was a little surprised that the XDM shot half the size group as my SR9. I would have maybe expected it to shoot a little better...

      A few reloading questions

I don't know about the rest of you but I think the Lee safety scales are very hard to read. I think you would be a lot better off getting a simple set of RCBS 502 scales.

What do I do about zinc in lead??

I won't trust zinc floating to the top or not melting at low temps. I don't care how long I spend sorting before I melt. I give every weight a squeeze with side cuts. A lead weight I can leave a mark on. A zinc weight I can not and I kick it out. Slow, yes. But I never have zinc in my bullet...

      Number of reloads per year?

My name is Jarel and I have a reloading problem. I have shot as many as 35,000 in a summer. I am doing my best to get WELL below 10,000. Maybe I need an intervention.

      Reloading for Shotgun

I use to shoot skeet a lot in the 90s. I loaded 7/8 #8. I could miss them just fine with that load. With commercial shot selling for about $40 a bag you won't save much over 12ga. shells on sale. 20ga. are not on sale much so you should save a little more on them. If you plan to shoot a lot I...

Hey Casters: 2 or 6 cavity?

I use lots of Lee 6 cavity molds. Love them. They weigh less than a iron 2 cavity. As to getting too hot I have a shallow pan next to my furnace with a old sponge in it and not the foam kind. fill the pan with water and let the sponge soak it up. Then every 5 or 6 throws of the mold I set the...

      Wheel Weights

I have been casting for over 30 years. WW are getting harder to get all the time. Many tire shops in my area won't sell them at all. They claim that they recycle them through a single person/business and won't sell them to the public. Again they claim that lead is toxic and don't want the...

Letting other people shoot your reloads

I cast all my bullets and reload all my ammo. Have for over 30 years. Countless guests of mine have shot my reloads in my guns. Never and I say never has there been the first problem. When working up a load I choose a powder that a double charge will over flow the case. So the chance of a double...

      My first post

Hello to all. I joined up last night. I was told about this site by a friend. I have enjoyed shooting from my teenage years. Then got in to reloading in the 70s. Don't remember when I started casting my own. I would guess not long after I started reloading. I shoot only for the fun of it as my...
