Who carrys the big guns still?

Either a 1911 or cz75 everyday, never felt like it was too much for me to work around, and am much more confident making accurate shots with them than other pistols I’ve tried

      Thumbing Hammer when loading

Ive used it as a tactic to introduce to physically weaker shooters, older ladies and such, to allow them to manipulate the slide easier..but as far as personal use, no, i dont ever thumb the hammer back before chambering a round

      HOT BLUING

Sure thing:) if you end up not wanting to mess with hot bluing as a hobby(understandable, my hold up with things like learning case hardening has always been cost of equipment), possibly look into slow rust bluing if you havent dont so already. Can produce some beautiful results, with a minimum...

Safety is paramount, wear PPU and keep some vinegar handy;)

      HOT BLUING

I have some experience hot bluing as part of a gunsmithing curriculum at Yavapai college. As far as setup, i could prolly answer some basic questions, but everything such as tanks and heating elements were already set up for us....maybe i can answer your questions?

      Getting started on coyotes

Yep, Morgan Monroe is where I am familiar with, theres coyotes there but they seem to be very wary of responding directly to calling. A big part of it is just being where they are, and they definitely live in every public land area ive been to. Ive yet to try HNF or Yellowwood, feel free to pm...

      Getting started on coyotes

What area of the state are you in? Im always looking for new hunting areas that could be productive, for predators...a little later on in the season i could use a hunting partner, if you wanted to try it out. Coming from Arizona, back to Indiana, im really missing the predator hunting and ample...

      Remington 11-87 problem

if you feel reasonably confident about disassembling the gun, i would do so, thoroughly clean out the magazine tube, and if you can replace the magazine spring and follower(this is just something i would do, the gun being used, but not really pertinent to your issue i think.) sounds like this is...

Who daily carries a full size?

Full size 1911, or CZ75, for me, every day. I can feel it if Im out hiking around, or standing all day, but I am fine with that. I do want a little something like a P938 for those instances in which I might be concerned about printing, but if I ever do get one again, itll be purely for those...

      1911 Show-N-Tell

This is kind of a little sneak peak, Ill post some better pics a little later on after Ive completed everything with the pistol....its one Ive been working on for a while now, a 9mm commander. I used a dremel in a couple of spots, namely the undercut and grip safety blend, but other than that...

      KIDD Trigger Pin Problem

Are the outside diameters, lengths of the pins the same? Are you pushing the pins in from left to right? Im not totally familiar with the 10/22, ive only owned one for a short while and did no work on it other than swapping barrel and stock, but these are the first things i would look at when...

Help with a question about refinishing a slide

The metal on the pistol is “finished” with a coating, to keep it from rusting, to put it simply. When the company cuts into your slide to make a mounting surface for the RMR, this will remove the finish that was previously on that surface area. They are asking if you would like the slide to be...

      1911 Show-N-Tell

A Sig Nightmare full size .45, bought when the 1911 line was first introduced by Sig. Its a beast, has been chugging along with over 10,000 rounds at this point, only issue being a broken firing pin spring(which did not affect function of the pistol at the time it was found, easily 50 or more...

      Gunsmithing Program at Yavapai College

Thank you! Yes, unfortunately its pretty much California, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Colorado, or Arizona for accredited 2 year programs. There are quite a few smaller, more specific classes that usually run over the weekend around the country, if youre still interested you might look into...
