      Problem with Savage scope mount

I have a friend of a friend who has Pelican cases for his rifles. He somehow acquired big stickers with "PROPERTY OF XXX CORPORATION--AV EQUIPMENT" on both his cases. I wish I had connections with a big corp. with these stickers.

      Problem with Savage scope mount

I love the 22-06 so much, that I think I will get a Savage 17 HMR with a long range Vortex to plink and hunt 'yotes. Then I will have to spend $$$ on a calling system. Won't be cheap getting out of that deal. I now have to load up 300 rds on single stage RGBS that will take me a couple of...

      Problem with Savage scope mount

Just a quick follow-up. Took my rifle in to my gunsmith this morning. He called this afternoon and said it was done. Great job!. He took a look at my set-up with the scope and said it looked fine because I had a good 4" between the scope and my eye. Now, I will sight it in tomorrow and get ready...

      Problem with Savage scope mount

I intend to shoot mostly range and with sticks. Back won't let me shoot prone too much. I am going to give repositioning another try, but if it doesn't work I will have it milled. Since I'm an old fart and don't want to give up shooting or hog hunting in Florida during winter, I guess I will...

      Problem with Savage scope mount

I will try to re adjust my form, but part of the problem may be that I am 71 and my neck is not as supple as you young guys. I just picked up the rifle and tried to get my neck that far forward but I don't think it will go. I have also looked on google images at mounted rifle scopes and it...

      Problem with Savage scope mount

I've had the rings adjusted all over the base. I've had the scope in and out. I think I shot my bird bath 100 times or more from my garage. If the scope is far enough away to clear the mount, the stock is on my arm, not my shoulder. I forgot to mention that this the the 2nd base I have had on...

      Problem with Savage scope mount

I am going to take it to my smith Monday. I don't see any other way. I thought of swapping ends but that won't work either. I guess that Savage's are a ***** to scope.

      Problem with Savage scope mount

No, can't do. I wear contacts and I have spent a lot of time with eye relief. If I push it forward, I get scope shadow all over the place. This is as far from the eye as it can be for me.

      Problem with Savage scope mount

Hello. I have a Savage 11/111 BTH (long action 25-06). I purchased a Vortex Viper HS 2.5-10 scope with Viper medium high rings. I also purchase a EGW 1-piece Picatinny Base for Savage 110 through 116. It installed correctly with no need to bed the base which made me happy. However, the front...

      Did I screw up?

Thanks slough. I looked in all the manuals but none had a mention of this. I'm sure it will come up as I load more and more. BTW, is that your 172. I used to fly a Cherokee 6 back in my youth.

There has to be a better way

Yes, yes, I get the point. But, it is much easier and more accurate for me since I'm a lawyer and not a machinist.:rockwoot:

A follow-up on my new Little Crow. I received it and have had a chance to trim some brass. It is a great tool. My RCBS grinder has found a new home in the back of my cabinet. A tip for using the Little Crow. You need a reference brass to set it up properly. I first used a previously trimmed case...

      Another dumb newby question

What a great forum. Filled with people willing to help someone get started with excellent advice. I am going to incorporate all these tips at the bench and start over with my die adjustments and loads. I will post back here when I have a chance to test out at the range. A couple of things: Am I...

      Another dumb newby question

Here is the Nosler manual that I am using 25-06 Remington ? Nosler. Scroll down to the 120 Partition. My understanding of what you are saying is NOT to go shorter COL than 3.200. Am I correct. I am going to re-adjust my die tomorrow and do some experimenting with my brass. I will load some @...
