      Wanting to build my first AR.

      I am wanting to start piecing together an AR. I want to keep it 5.56/.223 since i can alway throw another upper together. I'm thinking something with a 16" barrel. Not going for a top of the line rifle just something that shoots every time on a decent budget. Are there any good links out there...

      OK I have a group of buddies who get together for a hog roast/gun shoot at some property owned by on of them in Illinois. Can I legally carry any gun into Illinois if I am going to shoot it on private property? I took my .22 last year not thinking too much about it. Now that I have been on here...

      Kimber's and FN's

      OK so since I got my job back I think I am gonna get a new gun. May be a pistol, may be a rifle but I would like to get into a Kimber or an FN. What should I look for in an FN? I'm pretty set on an Ultra Carry II if I go with a kimber.

      Off to the lake

      Well guys, Dad oughta be here anytime now. We are headed to Dogwood lake to do some bluegill/redear fishing. He did pretty well last weekend. We should have enough for a nice fish fry once I move in to my new place. I will have pics to post when I return.

      Is something wrong with my gun or do i suck at shooting?

      I took my XD to the range yesterday and when we were shooting it seemed like the grouping was to the left of the target. I was aiming as near to the center as I could tell and there was probably an 8" group to the left of the target shooting at 30 yds. Its a 9mm and I was shooting WWB ammo.

      Columbus Firearms safety course

      Columbus PD is putting on a pistol safety course on May 15, 2010 and June 5th, 2010 Cost is 25 bucks. More info and an application can be found at Columbus Police Department I have a buddy getting married on the 15th so thats a no go. I may try to make the one on the 5th.

      My New Remington 700

      Traded my m4 .22 for this Remington 700 ADL .243, Added a Winchester bi-pod and a 6.5-20x50 whitetail classic scope. Its not much but I think it will do well once I sight it in.

      Adding sling studs to a Marlin Model 60.

      I am wanting to add sling studs to my Model 60. I saw a set at walmart that were universal but wasn't sure if there is a kit or not. I like the wood stock on this gun so I do not want to get another stock. Is there a Kit for the model 60 to add these?

      Good scope for Rem 700 under $200. Is it possible?

      I got ahold of a Remington 700 finally and would like to put a better scope on it. Is there anything out there under $200 thats gonna work good for me? Its gonna mostly be a target gun but want to be able to hunt Coyotes or Deer with it.

      Pro's/Con's of .243 ammo

      I am thinking of trading my Colt M4 .22 for a remington 700 ADL in .243. What are the pro's/con's of this ammo? I know its capable of knocking down deer and all the varmint-sized animals. Is there anything that would steer me away from .243. I would like .308 or 30-06 but .243 is acceptable.

      Mini 30 info

      What can you guys tell me about the mini 30? I was offered one in a trade and I am thinking about it because i like the ranch rifle style gun. 7.62 x 39 can be had fairly cheap from what i have seen and its got mounts for a scope as well. I am thinking of just holding out for a Remington 700.
