    In 1994 (retired) General Norman Schwarzkopf was at Omaha Beach for the 50th anniversary. Standing on the beach looking at the German positions he said something I'll never forget. "These are the best defensive positions I have ever seen."

    My dad was a Sea Bee during WWII I am not sure where he was on D Day though

    My uncle was in the D day invasion. He was in the 101st but was detailed to the 82nd for the invasion.

    Is it this plaque at Utah Beach?

    That's not easy to take a better picture (but I could try), the plaque is inside a bunker in a narrow corridor, so it's not really possible to stand in front of it.You have to take the picture from the side like the picture above, and stand outside of the bunker.

    You can see the plaque is right next to the door.

    There is a small room inside with pictures.Not sure if one is your great uncle or not.
