    I recommend wood stocks like my Marlin 60's give the kids an arm workout. I get to kill two birds one stone shooting fundamentals and upper body strength.

    Relocating the larger caliber rifles to the north benches on the 50yd line should address that issue. As I recall, they were previously on the south side 50yd line benches, just over the dirt divider between the 50 and 25yd lanes.

    They were moved to their current location so that brass would not fly on to others on the benches.
    What we can do is moved them back to the far left and put up some tarps to block that bench off so the brass does not go flying everywhere.
    Or get some brass catchers.

    Report: Cost of Event

    The following was the email I sent to DNR in terms of our 'cost' to do the event.

    ************************
    This is the total of items bought and/or donated

    FOOD
    $36.37 - Hot dogs
    $28.00 - Hot dog buns
    $24.95 - Fruit by the foot
    $21.50 - Pop
    $8.00 - Water
    $35.50 - Ice
    $36.16 - Oreo cookies
    $50.97 - Chips
    $2.13 - Plates

    AMMO
    $1,826.88 - .22lr @ .11 a round estimate (note 1)
    $493.89 - .223 REM
    $24.00 - 7.62x39
    $69.99 - 20g shells

    OTHER
    $4.00 - Bug repellant
    $104.30 - Eye protection
    $60.00 - Ear Protection
    $10.00 - Paper Targets

    Food Sub-Total = $243.58
    Ammo Sub-Total = $2414.76
    Equipment Sub-Total = $178.30

    Grand Total = $2836.64

    Note 1: All the ammo was donated but members paid a wide range for .22lr this year from .07 to .17 cents depending on where, when, and how much was bought. So the average of .11 was used for the report.

    **********

    For comparison this was our numbers last year.
    Food = $179.42
    Ammo = $1500.00
    Equipment = $300
    Grand Total = $1979.42

    The food for this year, however, can be lower but our leftover will be used for the July event so the number above is not really correct in terms of how much we really needed. What cost the most this year is the .22lr and that is to the shortage which I hope by next year will finally be gone.

    Reply from DNR for all the donors/volunteers.

    ****
    Thanks for the report & the all the work you do to help put on this event.

    Again, please let all the NW INGO volunteers know that we really appreciate their efforts – whether they instruct shooters, cook, donate items, or help in any capacity – it takes a bunch of dedicated people to conduct a successful event. Members of NW INGO “get it”, we need to be proactive in introducing entire families to the shooting sports and teaching them the correct methods to safely enjoy shooting firearms. We simply could not do this without the NW INGO volunteers!
