    First question: even if the Supreme Court allows it, does the state impose it? The decision allows states to collect sales tax on interstate transaction. It does not require it.
    Second question: who has to collect sales tax?

    Very good questions. Exactly why this decision is such a hot mess. Especially vs recent court decision avoidance. :dunno:

    It will be no easier to enforce than having consumers self report when they purchase things outside the state. I also have no doubt it will create a mess.

    If you have to collect sales tax on everything, your tax form will list gross sales and your sales tax submission will list non-exempt sales. Pretty easy to tell how much tax you should have collected. Unless you’re saying businesses will cook the books to save their customer money
