The problem with your scenario is that you believe that we don't have the will to defend the wall. We do.

The first thing you do is not to allow the vultures to pick, ever again. No more free stuff for them like we have allowed until now. No matter how lazy we want to be, our scrap is not their find. They have no business near our border. NONE!

Security is paramount for the US and Mexico. We need to do our own security and charge them if they don't do theirs. Any human that approaches our border attempting an illegal crossing should ring up a charge to the Mexican government. A charge that will be assessed every singe year.

The wall and it's defense needs to be an investment. An investment that will be quite a chore for any future administration to ignore.

Greece? That seems like an odd example. The immigrants didn't vote in a socialist system there; the Greeks did.

Also, I've yet to see a statistical model that explains how Trump won in 2016 that does not account for a significant number of immigrants voting FOR him, rather than against.

Immigrants - like any other classification - are not homogeneous. Most Hispanic immigrants I know are more aligned with conservative values than liberal.

But, they make for an easy bogeyman.

Four seemingly simple solutions to legitimate problems in this country. Unfortunately we (as a country) cannot solve problems any longer because a significant portion of this country can't help but to say "but what about those poor, poor _________? Can't we make an exception for them?" Doesn't take long and we've not only transitioned away from solving problems but we have run full speed ahead into making them worse.

You can’t just ignore the law and expect the society to continue to function.

I can’t walk into any other country on this planet, ignore their laws and expect no consequence.
Other countries want you to provide proof of self financial support before you can immigrate, they are not taking in another mouth to feed off of their own people.
