    I think a part of that is British-English v. American-English.

It is. Over there "Asian" generally refers to Southern and Western Asian people. They still call East Asian people "Oriental" whereas over here that is considered offensive.

I didn't know oriental was offensive, a bit dated maybe.

Guess I should keep my PC list updated a little better. ;)

It's similar to calling black people "negro". It's not as bad as that other word and some members of the race are even ok with it, but it's best to avoid. However it is ok to use it to refer to things (e.g. Oriental rugs).

Apparently the attacker used a large fixed blade knife.
For some reasons he didn't follow the law and didn't bother having a non-locking folder with a blade under 3 inches.

It's like terrorists attacks in California where attackers somehow don't follow their limited capacity magazine law ...

It almost as if criminals don't respect laws that are made to keep "people safe" by banning dangerous scary things. :dunno:

Careful. I hear if you make sense, France and the US will throw you out.
