Kinda makes my point about the V6 not being a slow car. Only 1/2 second difference in the passing time between the V6 and the GT? That's impressive. I see the Camaro does spank them both, though. :)

Actually, it makes BBI's point and not yours. Half a second means it takes the V6 22.7% longer than the V8 to do that passing test. Half a second is pretty big compared to the total amount of time (2.2 sec).

Pedantically play with percentages all you want, but the fact of the matter is, a V6 Mustang that is only 1/2 second slower than a Mustang GT is impressive and fast.

That Challenger with those specs has to have the 392 Hemi. Most likely the Scat Pack.
I'd love to have a new Charger Scat Pack 392 Hemi, but will have to make do with my plain old Charger R/T for now.

    That is saying a lot.
I wonder if that is the closest "test" between them. I bet as the pass continued on towards 100+ mph I bet the gap would continue to grow. I think the V6 make somewhere around 320 hp and the V8 around 450 plus much much more torque. I would think those numbers make a difference a big difference

Lest we forget the SVO mustang of the mid 80s. That turbo 4 was faster than the v8....
That isn't saying much, 175-205 hp / 210-248 Lb torque, are not numbers to brag about.

If you are talking mid 80' cars, lets not over look the 87 Buick Grand National GNX 376 hp / 360 Lb torque. Plus they look BAD ASS......

I was trying to make the Ford guys feel bad.... ;)

I do believe the GNX was the fastest American production car in 1987. As cool as that is, it's also pretty sad... I would like to drive one of the new turbo 4 mustangs or camaros. Just want to compare. I'm a fan of the idea.

I was looking at Nascar drivers, didn't think to look at Indy car.
