Sig P365, really tough gun to beat for carry right now IMHO

Agreed, I would not limit myself to single stack, but rather the size of the gun, etc as the criteria. The 365 is difficult to beat, especially once you factor that while there is a price difference, the 365 comes with a good set of night sights from the factory.

If you shoot one, don't judge it with just the 10 round mags, try it with the 12 round mags and make your decision.

The shield is a solid choice, I'd stay away from Springfield personally. I think the 365 mentioned could work well also. As someone else up thread mentioned the new blocks would work well for you, I shot a 48 a little bit recently and I really liked it. If it were my money it'd be one of those 3.

    My $0.02 on the subject:

Best but not a true single stack - Sig P365

My go to before the P365 (and still occasionally) - G43

    A solid value choice - S&W Shield

Honorable mention - G43x, G48, P365 XL (when its released)

    Sig P938 for easy concealment.
    Operates like a little 1911.
    Single action trigger.
Cocked and locked with the pinky extension 7 round mag.

Not a Sig fanboy by any means, but I do love this gun.

    S&W Shield,
Best value solid performance easy to carry and shoot on a proven platform and doesn’t feel like a brick in your hand like a Glock.

Are the 365s fixed yet? They were breaking firing pins and having other reliability issues.

It's ironic you have a Military Arms Channel patch with your 365, Tim likes the gun but won't carry it due to the three lemons he's received...

Here is what I would say is the top five.
    xds
    Kahr
    lc9s
    sig 938
    Glock 43
I have all five and there there all great.
However I shoot the xds and kahr the best so thats what I carry.
Xds first and the Kahr is a backup.
    Love my xds!

My default carry is the Sig P365 (although not a true “single stack”).
Mainly, the round count and size are tough to beat. I’ve had no issues with mine.

Other than that, if I didn’t have the P365, I’d likely carry with a Glock 43. I know a few operators who use this as daily carry in the civilian market and are quite content with that platform.

If we are no longer confined by striker fired single stacks. I would put in a good word for the Sig P239. It is metal and hammer fired but carries nicely.

Agree, I switched from the 43 to the 365, but definitely carried the 43 for a good while. I do feel I shoot better with the 365 than the 43, and the added capacity isn't a bad thing by any means.

Well I ended up picking the shield 2.0. Feels good in the hand and has a proven track record. Eager to put some rounds through it. Now to find a holster.....hmmmm.....lol

The OP asked for the best single stack for carry, so I'm throwing MHO out here. The Ruger SR1911 Officer's Model in 9mm has been my EDC for the last year and a half. I shoot it well, and it's not hard for me to conceal no matter the season. It's so far been utterly reliable, not a single malfunction or mishap to report. It's plenty accurate and very pleasant to shoot.

Ooops, I see you already got a Shield. Good choice for sure!

I have an LC9 as my personal carry and Jeep gun - I'm sure anyone's preference is going to be uniquely personal - I am just very comfortable with and really like that gun.

Great choice! Now don't look back, try not to second guess yourself. There are a lot of great carry pistols out there and you just picked one the best!

Practice, practice, train, repeat until you are super familiar with it.

As far as holsters, that's a whole nutha journey!:)

If you are going IWB, I can't help. I tried those and they don't work for me. As soon as I went OWB, I started carrying 80% more. I can help you with OWB if you go that direction. I have tried many and currently have different brands for different guns so I can tell you all about them.
