Anyone have a use for some .365" round ball? I have over 425 of them that I got in a package deal.

Absolutely beautiful morning for a squirrel hunt. The son and I went out along with my brother.

    Awalters0815,
What part of the state are you located. LGS here in Fountain county just got in a like new (one scratch) Lyman Plains rifle in .50 cal. It is a factory finished gun, not a kit. $450

The Lyman rifles are wonderful pieces for the price. I shoot a Lyman "Trade Rifle" and it is very accurate even though it is a 1:48 twist and I shoot only patched round ball. Highly recommend any of the Lyman rifles or pistols.

I just sold one of my 1858s to a forum member here. Neat guy, it was good talking to him. I think my next cap and ball gun will be a 1858 sheriff's model. I am going to have to wait till cabela's has another good sale though, as they have them listed fro $269 right now. They seem to always have great sales near the end of the year though.

I heard the brass is a bad idea, and planned on getting the one below. The first link was just the one that came up first when I searched in my history. I was mainly more interested in the traditions brand, and if anyone had experience with it. I was told its made by Pietta, which most people seem to have nothing bad to say about.

Get and shoot which ever version calls you, the Brass frame revolvers are perfectly safe and fun to shoot as long as you reduce the powder loads.. I have had and shot a brass frame revolver for years. 100s of rounds through it, no issues. Still safe and fun to shoot.. Also the brass will get a nice Patina on it the more you use it..

I bought a Pietta 1860 Army (Colt 1860 Army) back in January up at Cabelas. Steel frame. Nice piece and shoots great (Just hate cleaning it after the fun LOL!) Anyway...my next BP revolver piece will be a genuine Colt 2nd generation 1860 Army.

Here's one that often gets over looked but is a sweet pistola. It's the .36 cal Uberti London Navy. Check one out if ya get a chance. It's available in either 5" or 7 1/2".

Time was Pietta was inferior, but they have really upped their game in recent years. I have had nothing but good to say about the ones I have owned. Also the brass frame is fine if you are willing to shoot light target loads only. I like to make the sucker go BOOM it is steel frame for me.
