As with so many parts of Trump's administration, it is less about whether he has the power to do something, and more about whether he's wielding that power properly.

The mind games grow tiresome, but reveal the lack of substance to his character.

Have you always been in the Kut, Alpo group, am I just now noticing?

It's almost sad that there's "sides", I guess some see everything as black & white.

I personally do not care if Blago gets out. He paid a hefty price for doing what most in Chicago and Illinois have done AND continue to do. He was thrown under the bus and used as an example; but it did not work. Corruption is just as bad if not worse today.

What I do enjoy is watching the people go bonkers over Trump's decision, not only for Blago but for the others also. Even here, there are those who are quietly squirming in their chairs; trying to act like it does not bother them.

    I'm loving it!

Say what you want about him but you have to admire his ability to keep his enemies' panties in a perpetual state of twist.

You further have to admire his ability to make his supporters toe the line regardless of the decision he makes.

You’re defense is essentially “because everybody does it,” we shouldn’t treat it as harshly. I thought we were trying to move past “business as usual?”

It seems to me that to get our country back on the right path, we should be hammering those who would abuse their position; but apparently that just me and a few others.

    What?

Amazing what kind of words pop out of some mouths. The left has been trying to nail Trump since the day he announced his running. They have thrown handful after handful on the wall, but nothing sticks. Why? Because the poop they fling is nothing more than fabricated lies that have been, to date, ridiculous in nature. The left is, IMO, breaking the law in order to prevent his obvious re-election in November.

How about we really go after those who are truly abusing their power. What about Hillary, Soros, Comey, Pelosi and the entire socialist party who call themselves demoncrats? You do not call what they have been doing over the last 3 years as abuse of power?

Comon' Kut.....ya gotta be sipping on the 151 bottle; right?

I'm no big fan of Blago. He played the insider political game and was made an example of.

I'm more bent out of shape about the "Chelsea" Manning commutation.

So keeping in line with the tread, from earlier participants:

    -Blago is convicted
-Previous opinion, before today, was that he got less than he deserved; not a peek about it being excessive
-It is believed the Obama would pardon him at some point; which he did not do.
-Trump commutes Blago's sentence, and now it was the right thing to do because it was excessive?

The man didn't had no respect for rule of law, and sought to benefit for his own selfish reasons... and got caught. He deserved to do his time. I have no idea why people think this is acceptable; well other than the fact that Trump did it, and he doesn't do anything wrong.

My personal opinion, is that he cut Blago a break because he has some other pardons coming down the pipe, and doesn't want it to look as if its only his allies that benefit from such privileges. We shall see.
Nah. It’s not that complicated. Trump doesn’t do complicated. It’s because the dude was on The Apprentice.

How many pardons has Trump made so far? 26?

How many pardons did Obummer make? 1927?

And the socialists (dems) are complaining about abuse of power? Oh, that's right.......silly me. I forgot, broken laws and abuse of power is only something their opposition can targeted on. Those silly politicians take their instructions from other communist leaders throughout the world.

You didn't take all that "swap clearing" talk seriously, did you?

Well, the words Drill Sgt and Nuance aren't typically used in the same sentence.

TLex is one of the finer minds on this site. Glad to see he's back from sabbatical.

Thanks, but my presence here, rather than my absence, might be more properly labelled the sabbatical. ;)
