Q: Did the guy that got out of his car with his gun low and ready break any laws?
    A: Apparently not.

Q: Is it advisable (and defensible in court) if he had used that gun given he had other options than to stop and block the person following him instead of fleeing?
    A: Enjoy jail.

Not a LEO, but I know a little about the law.

Yes, I should have said LEO or others knowledgeable on the law.

Which time? The OP or the later account that told a polar opposite story about who is the bad guy and good guy?

I should have made it more clear. I was referring to the revised, later account. Lacking further details, I'd have a hard time putting the guy with the pistol in the good guy class.

Holding a pistol is not illegal. Pointing it at someone is. Were verbal threats communicated? Don't know. Infractions? Blocking traffic? Stupid, probably, and dangerous, sure.

It is not against the law to simply follow someone on a public street. Add additional facts, maybe we can come up with something, but just following? Legal. Volatile? Sure, it can be. Sometimes the first illegal thing that happens is violence.

So you can intentionally avoid accidents? More people should do that.

I admire your extra brain capacity.

That line should have been in purple. I'm still learning.

You're not working that hard at it.

This is a tough crowd. I'm going to have to up my game.
