Not that I plan on getting away with anything - but sheer curiosity begs me to ask if they pat you down and/or metal detect you? I would presume they don't simply take your word for it.When you walk in the door to the 1500, there will be a table with a few officers hangin around, and they will ask if you have any firearms that you are bringing in. Each firearm is cleared and an orange zip tie is placed on the gun. This holds for any gun entering the building.

Beyond that, if you really wanted to - there isn't anything to stop you from breaking the tie and popping in some ammo you bought at the show, but I couldn't say whether people do that or not.
Interesting. It all works on the honor system.
As though you couldn't just re-load the magazine? I would presume it's so you don't just slide it back into the gun not thinking about it being loaded (perhaps out of habit).Once I had an officer ask me to unload my magazine too.
Ah.There are a lot of people who just stay concealed. So treat it as you would anywhere with a no guns policy (besides gov. stuff) if that is your inclination.
Interesting. The down side to that is that you can be asked to leave, but more importantly...If you don't have what you brought in zip tied, you run the risk of being hassled about whether or not you stole the gun off a table since you don't have a zip-tie or a receipt of purchase.. (This happens at nearly every 1500 I work.) It basically wastes 20 minutes of your time as long as the gun really isn't stolen.
Indeed - I have yet to find a good holster that I can conceal my XDm-40 3.8 well with. To be honest, not even 100% sure how to find a good conceal holster other than going on the word of others and/or trying them out at a shop.Concealed is concealed.

Perfectly legal to carry at the gun show. CC or OC. Or both. Or two of each.
Show rules dictate that it must be shown unloaded & ziptied.
Of course, that only applies to those who are paying admission. Vendors aren't held to the same standard.
