Shotties shotties shotties. I have more than I can explain. I don't have to explain to anyone, of course. But even I don't know why I dig them so much.

PS please don't anyone post an Ithica HD or riot model for sale for awhile.

I saw 2 nice ones at the gun show on the same table, one was a prison issue (marked police), the other a Texas Ranger issued gun. I think he would take $300 for either and I didn't stop to haggle price as I won't own an Ithaca, but hey if it is your thing, they were nice ones. I thought about the TX one for a minute or two.

You know guys in a SHTF case, shot guns are great for a hunkered down protect yourself in a small area that's well protected, and can be good if it's got a rifled bbl with a scope on it for some distance with slugs.

But be realistic, who's going to win if it comes down to a guy with a shotty trying to lug around a hundred or so shells against a guy with a good carbine carrying considerably more more ammo and much more mobile.

Up close and personal a shotty does have a tactical advantage.
But put me in a situation if I had to go face to face with 6 people with shot guns or people with .22's/9mm/.223 carbines, I'd prefer going against the shotguns.

You just have to have something that's going to want people from getting close enough to be a factor, and a shot gun does not do that imho.

Shotguns are way to limited on distance honestly, the idea of shooting slugs 100-200 yards... don't like them.

SKS' is no way what it was. They were a good idea when cheap, not anymore.

Save up for an extra SAR or WASR (ak's) or two. Mosins/Mausers are a great idea... but are what they are.

Everyone should have an identical back up rifle to their primary. With the costs of replacement parts, you can almost buy a second (or third) rifle rather than a bunch of parts...
