From what I have been hearing $2k area is pretty common right now.
The pic in the OP isnt working for me but looking at context clues, were talking about the new gen Pythons?

Last I looked my old school Python wasn't worth much more than that, I wonder if it's gone up now too.

I worked in a gun shop in early 1980s. Sold a man brand new Colt Python. He brought it back about a week later. Said it was out of time. It was. I have never been impressed with them since then.

I'm about 2 years into my Python journey. I didn't care if it was an older model or new one. Recently, someone pointed me to Sportsmans.com (Sportsmans Warehouse) who sells new pythons at MSRP as they become available. Today finally got an order in. I was so excited I ordered both the 6" and 4.25" versions. Really hoping they actually have inventory and are able to fulfill my order.

    I grew up shooting Pythons.
They are nice and have the look.
    Had no problems.

Deer and varmint hunting? Stainless 6".
Either the new Python or a Smith 686 (pre lock).
    Reflex sight atop.

Have not shot a new Python yet but it looks good to me.

I dunno what old shooter grade Pythons are going for.
Heard the market has softened some.
3K for one...........IMHO they aint worth it.
Wouldn't pay that for a spotless one.

Because Ima gonna shoot it. A lot.

BTW, in TWD Ricks gun sometimes has a single pin front sight, other times 2 pin.

Show was entertaining for a bit, but the stupidity just got too much and I bailed.
Hated Rick, his wife and kid. Shoulda been dead/eaten halfway through season 1.

So...................am kinda anti stainless Python (old version) LOL

Honestly, if going classic, the 6" blued looks the best to me.

Oddly, I think Smith L frames look better in stainless, don't like a 586.

Eh, I'm still holding out for the ugly of uglies............a 9.5" SuperRedhawk .44

I've been wanting a revolver for awhile now. Had my mind made up on a Python, but refuse to pay crazy prices. Appreciate the S&W suggestions.

If your hearts set on a Python then go for it. However, S&W and a Ruger both make excellent 8-shot .357s. The Redhawk I got is a tank.

You would think that for that kind of money, someone would rather have an older "classic" Python from the 60's/70's.

That’s my thinking too. For that kind of money I’m going to custom order a Magnum Research BFR (totally different kind of gun, I know).
