At the risk of taking a non-standard position...though I feel I'm not alone. Stolen valor? Bad. but there has to be a less obnoxious way to do this.

If this was a hit and run to make sure there's as much bad press on this Cork guy, that's not what this forum is for.

If you want to engage in gun talk, and more...beyond internet vigilantism, welcome.

I never got beyond Tenderfoot in Boy Scouts.....I have my dad's old uniform where he got to Life Scout and I used to wear it when I was a kid...

    I am sorry....

See, that's the clever part. Steal "Life Scout" valor and no one suspects you. Had you gone for "Eagle Scout", you'd have websites dedicated to taking you down.

    Smart.

Oh, and I was never in Boy Scouts, but I EARNED my Arrow of Light in Webelos.

Probably a safe bet. Is now in the 'Cory & Erika fraud' thread. Looks like he knows how to pick things to stir the pot.

What's the story on Cory and Erika? I watched a few of their videos but they seemed nearly brainwashed in their methods. Kinda forgot they existed, actually.

Blue Falcon, I've been so busy munching my crayons I haven't had a chance for a good response to your jabs. I'm nearly done with this box, though.

It's worse...I reenacted Revolutionary War period and I wasn't actually at the siege at Boonesboro or the Battle of Blue Licks...Yet for a large group of tourists I pretended like I was, going so far as to dress period and even talk in 18th century parlance to young groups of schoolchildren and Scout troops.....

It was only a matter of time before someone put 2 and 2 together to realize I was not really there....

I feel better now...Thanks for helping me through this Hough....:yesway:

Erika is hot. That's about it with her.

Cory made a big deal out of his service as an infantryman in the Army. Come to find out he got a case of the sissies while he was in 30th AG and quit before he even went to basic. He lied to bring traffic to his YouTube channel and sell classes.

And that is my problem with stolen valor. I appreciate the free speech aspect, and would never support any criminal charges against one of these clowns. But they are scum. They, for whatever reason, never did much or anything in the military. And that is fine. But other people have. There are men and women who will never walk again, never see again, never take a dump without the indignity of having someone else wipe their butt for them. There are folks in their late 20's that were captains on their high school football teams that are full on retarded today. And they don't ask for so much as your sympathy. But they did their part, and Cory or whoever comes along and pretends they were right there with those guys so they can cash in on their sacrifice.

In my strange and twisted career I haven't been overseas. Unfortunately some of the guys I have served with have been truly disabled by their experiences. And they swallow that down, and suppress it so they won't get kicked out. Because they still want to serve. Not get rich. Not get notoriety. Serve.

One of the first lessons I teach one of my new soldiers is when I catch them wearing the uniform in an unprofessional way. Audie Murphy wore that uniform. Salvatore Giunta wore that uniform. Roy Benevidez wore that uniform. And there are hundreds of thousands who drew their last breath in that uniform, who stained that uniform with their blood. The best you can do is to wear that uniform in such a way that does not bring discredit upon those who wore it before you. But even that dumb private has done something these stolen valor types never would. Serve.

I think we have an official team to deal with this sort of thing on the INGO with the ability to produce DD214s and legally publish them on an open forum.

    So . . . "Cork Graham."

Yeah. Well, I'd never read or heard that name before. People who do that crap are seeking attention. Now this Cork Graham is getting extra attention, so the way I see it, he wins.

Was the Army using its current system of MOS's when that guy would have served? I really don't know, but probably. But if he was an E5, his MOS would have been 11B20, not 11B40.

    USMC, uses 4 digit Mos's .....

    IE, 0311 is a "ground pounder" .....

    I was a 3521 & a 3524

From what I understand many of those stolen valor actually served.
I'm not sure what's the percentage of people who never served vs the ones who did.
The ones who served usually never saw actual combat or were never deployed overseas so they embellish their service record.

I guess they think they will only be respected if they say they were on the frontline.

I personally have as much respect for a cook than I do a special ops soldier. Both can be proud to have served their country.
