Well, I went off and did it... picked up the SP-01 Phantom. Not sure what I was expecting, but it's a really nicely-finished pistol (at least on the outside--haven't field-stripped it yet). Sure does feel nice in the hand. Probably will shoot it tonight if I can make the time to clean all the goop off the thing.

    I have had a couple of 75b's, a 75bd, a 75b Combat, a P01, a 97b and a CZ40. I love CZ pistols and rifles. My only complaint is the semi-gritty trigger pull found on the pistols.

They feel great and shoot great. The give you the heft and control of a Beretta 92 without the huge size.

Well, I did make it to the range, but without my new CZ... I did see my business partner's son teaching his mom how to shoot for the first time. She shot three magazines through an LCP, hitting the target nearly every shot (7 yds.)... Then her first shot with his .40 was a darn-near dead-center bullseye :D

Wow, guess I made a good choice... The polymer grip fits like I sculpted it for my own hand. Can't wait to shoot this beast.

Anyone know what the tiny punch mark dead-center behind the rear sight is? And who makes the best fiber optic sights for Phantom? Thanks!

Where can I find a 14 round magazine for my P-01? When I bought it, it came with two, ten round magazines. Will the 14 round magazine for the CZ-75 Compact work in the P-01? The magazines have a plastic base pad that extends partway up into the magazine and it appears that it may be possible to simply change the base pad for one that comes on the 14 round magazine.
I'm also interested in some faux pearl grips for it but got "burned" when a member in a different forum told me that the CZ-75 grips will work on the P-01. I ordered a set and guess what? I had to send them back because they do NOT fit the P-01.
    Thanks in advance.

I have 2 Pre B CZ75s. Unfortunately I bought them many years ago when they weren't imported into the US from the Evil Empire. I paid a fortune for them but got plenty of attention whenever I took them to the range! I'd like to get a 75B and a .22 Conversion unit for it. They won't work on the original 75s for some reason. I also have an 82 and an 83. All are great pistols. My CZ 452s are shooters as well!! :yesway:

    Welcome to the board!

You can buy factory CZ magazines or Mec Gar made magazines for the P-01/CZ 75 Compact (they take the same magazine). The Mec-Gar magazines tend to run atleast $20 cheaper and are of excellent quality. I have a mix of magazines from both, and I never care which one I grab. 100% reliability from both brands. There is also a rubber padded baseplate available (which you can obtain from CZ).

For grips, you might check these companies out (I've never dealt with them, just drooled on my keyboard looking at them).
