We're totally honest about everything but I quit announcing when I buy a gun because I'm an addict. The first step is admitting she has a problem.

    :):

I have a solid program with my spouse.
Buy a gun she gets a cut.
Sell a gun she gets a cut.
    Trade guns....yup,you guessed it.
It is not much just some pocket money and I started it as a joke. It gets her in the game. She see's everything that I build (yup, she gets a cut) buy fix or trade.
I finished 2 AR projects I have had on the bench for a while. I carried them in from the shop. Held them up. She smiled. Put them away and yup, she got her cut.

It is all in good fun but she got me good on a 3 gun trade last weekend. 1 went out and 2 came in. She counted that as 3 transactions. :faint:
Did I mention she is a solid negotiator.

She was short on pocket cash a few weeks ago and asked if I had any buying/selling plans in the works...:):

The wife is usually with me when I buy . She enjoys going. The guy I buy from at Midwest knows her name and always chats with her while I am looking in the cases. She enjoys looking at the people at the gun shows.

I have started open carrying at all of our family events. No one makes a peep, not even the socialist-in-laws. There was one time when a fudd-in-law told me he was a strong supporter of the 2nd A, but that no one needs an ar15.... He doesn't speak to me and I got scolded on the way home lol. After that though I think I earned respect from that side of the family, events are much more social and fun than awkward and tense. My side of the family just expects me to always have a gun on me and one in the car just in case we get a chance to shoot after dinner lol.

I don't like to be known as the guy with a gun. I think there's a stigma of showing off or being paranoid. I don't want anyone knowing I have one on me. I truly believe I may never need one, but it's there if I do. I don't think that mindset is paranoid and don't want the stigma. I don't have guns because I'm paranoid. I like studying them, cleaning them up, repairing anything broken. It keeps me occupied.

I've been banned from buying another gun. That was at least 10 ago? Been hard to sneak in the house lately, couple extra people staying here. Have 3 waiting in the garage to come.

Wife has her spending money and I have mine after the bills are paid. So she doesn't complain whenever I buy a gun. But she does tend to bust my chops about it. So yes on a few occasions I have snuck a gun into the house and into the safe under the cover of darkness. She may not know right away what I have, but she rolls her eyes and gives me that "I know look" whenever I open the safe.

I bought my wife another Harley a couple months ago because she wanted a different bike. There's nothing wrong with her old bike and she said she now likes the old one better. This month I paid a couple of old bills she had so she doesn't have to worry about it. I also bought 7 more guns. I don't keep it from her because of money. I know it's wrong but she's not counting beans, she's counting guns. It's a problem when you hide it. She was ok with it until the safe started getting full. She enjoys shooting and even talks about shooting the older stuff with her friends. I should quit buying guns for her sake, so she doesn't worry that I have an addiction. I'll quit tonight. Ok no more guns tonight.

No. I don't sneak anything into my house, hide finances, etc.
If my wife truly wants to know, she can know. She can ask. She can look. The only thing my wife diesnt have access to is 1 safe and that's because it has things that are legally only able to be accessed by me. If she wants in it, we will open it together.
    .
The sneaking guns things is more of a game. She plays it with her hobbies and I play it with mine. Believe it or not guns isnt even my most expenssive hobby.
My wife is my equal partner. I have my own income and she has her own income but they both combine and are divided into what we have agreed on. The extra money that I have to spend on toys is a budgeted and known amount, the same as hers is and it is equal. My kids have am allowance too, and if they want to buy dumb ****, then we let them (there are rules because they are children) but they dont get anymore money unless their chores are done and its allowance day. Same for daddy. If I want to spend over my budget then something is getting sold. I can get extra if I sell a gun or two but when I sneak a gun in, I'm not really sneaking anything at all because SHE equally agreed on the extra money i had to spend that month after savings and Bill's are taken care of. I dont do my wife dirty and she doesnt do me dirty either. My wife is my best friend. Is she going to have a cow when she sees 2 little tritium gas filled pieces of metal cost $175? Yep. Does she know I'm going to blow $175 and agreed to it? Yep. See my point? Why rock the boat?

    Never needed to.

We plan out how we're going to use our money each month. Some of it is designated for each of us to use on whatever we want. A big portion of mine goes to guns, ammo, etc. Every once in a while, a gun or something just goes into the budget. In any case, I never have to hide any purchases from my wife.

I don't have a credit card. I saved up for my car and bought a Chevy Cruze and had money left over for the bike she wanted. The first time she don't bring any more guns in the house, I came home with another gun and put it in the garage. I told her I bought a gun and put it in the garage. She said why did you put it in the garage? Because you said you didn't want no more guns in the house. She said bring it in the house and put it in the safe. I guess I should take that as her blessing the ban is off. But like you said, why rock the boat.

My wife has access to everything. I was sitting here watching Kavanaugh on Saturday Night Live and remembered that you can list her as a responsible person on your 5320.4 and she can file her 5320.23 as such. There's the checks and hoops but no extra tax.

Doesn't your wife question the 3 extra people in the garage? It's going to be getting cold soon, and you'll eventually have to let them come in. ;)

Our finances are healthy and she isn't a very controlling lady, so no hiding on my end.

Nope, no need to. Just me myself and I at the moment. In fact, my dog loves it when I come home with a new gun. He wants to go shooting right then and now!
