It's bad enough that the fumbduck is jumping around like a jackass while using a holster that does not retain the pistol; the fumbduck pulled the trigger when he picked it up!

Another example of the "best and brightest" of the fbi.

Was it the sale ads on slick paper or was it the classifieds? Has the guy in Dayton commented yet? Has "Whole Foods/green nylon bag guy" chimed in from the 12 items or less checkout lane? I heard these guys will be part of a panel discussion along with the Glock Fotay dude.
Only the gun gamers and bullet golfers use the slick ad paper, do that on the street and it can get you killed.

The best concealed carry paper is the brown bag recycled stuff, or the brown roll paper towels, plenty of grab to keep retention in FoF, but slick enough for a smooth consistent draw.

This incident should be used as video proof that break-dancing can be injurious to yourself and innocent bystanders.
It should be banned in it's entirety.

It's rare to catch such wanton stupidity on video. Hopefully the poor guy who got shot will recover and collect a nice sum directly from the individual whose negligence caused his injury and not the taxpayers.

Perhaps firearm related but youtube is FULL of wanton stupidity!

The late Jeff Cooper would not be pleased with Agent Backflip McNegligentdischarge-Soontobesuedandunemployed.

Jeff Cooper had his own negligent discharge in the presence of a journalist, back in the day. This was way before the internet. I remember reading about it in an article, but I don't remember the magazine. There are mentions of it on the internet. He was showing a revolver to a journalist and dry fired while sighting at an electric meter. Turns out, the dry fire wasn't so dry. Oops.

Usually i just stick my gun in its holster and hold it upside down over my bed to check retention on a new one.

Im not sure any of my holsters are backflip rated, perhaps I should up my retention standards.

... but seriously can we stop doing stuff like this? I work in liberal land and everyday i get to hear about this kind of thing from them.

Makes the 2A harder to defend when i get " If an FBI agent cant be trusted then...."

Since they are most often required to carry and covered by LEAP pay it's you and me that will be paying since he was within his "scope of employment". So the Agency will write a check. Depending on the relationship between the state and FBI Office he will probably not face serious criminal charges ((just the messenger bot agreeing)

His Agency will bot be as forgiving. Special Agents face minimum 30 day suspension for DUI so I can only imagine how this will fo. Why he chose to bust a move when carrying who knows.

Not sure what FBI rules are but when I worked for the US Marshals Service we were required to use a thumb break holster. Little different escorting prisoners to and from than investigating. And we must have been terrible dancers because none of us ever thought about doing it LOL

I can't tell if you've decided to troll or parody yourself. Either way, if your goal is actually gun safety you know that's not the cause or the lesson here.

Sushi dinner that the 302 reads "Agent Schmuckatelli told this Agent that he did not know that his service weapon was in the loaded condition."

    Two sushi dinners.

There is the possibility that he didn't bother to read the article to see what actually happened before he threw out his post.

I got the text about 3AM.

The 302 will make reference to the "fact" that Special Agent Schmuckatelli references a non-loaded gun.

Two sushi dinners to you too.

Regardless of any butt-covering claim, I'm positive the FBI trains to carry with one in the chamber, and I can verify if it's a rule for you if you like. There's no assumption it's unloaded. It hits the ground, he wants to recover it as quickly as possible, reacts subconsciously, and grabs it. His finger goes in the trigger housing and fires as he grips the gun. Same reason we don't attempt to catch a falling gun, fingers can get in the trigger guard.

The lesson isn't pretend harder, it's have a plan and react consciously and deliberately. Let a falling gun fall without attempt to grab it, then pick it up administratively (vs in oh poo mode), minding muzzle direction, etc.

And if you want to have dinner with me, just ask. You don't have to keep trying to lose a bet to me to trick me into it.
