I thought soccer players just fell to the ground whenever they got bumped and grabbed their shin...rolled around screaming, looking for a referee...then if they don't get the call they get up and run like nothing ever happened. I didn't think they really "fought" like big boys.

Yeah...best to avoid that place. He played his trump card and they will be ready next time.

I totally agree that not going back is he smart thing. But something like that just galls the hell out of me, letting those fence jumping turds "win".

I haven't been there in ~4 years but used to play all the time at Off the Wall in Carmel. Games got heated there too but nothing like this. I'd say if the whole team was willing to move then everyone should ask for their money back and move on to another site.

Officer Houchins, what in the original post leads you to believe that the Hispanics on the other team are "fence jumping turds?" Are they automatically illegal because they are Hispanic, or do you know them?

Also, using your judgment as a police officer, do you believe that the best response is to show up with friends, openly armed, to possibly provoke a gunfight in which innocent people may die, over a soccer game?

For what it's worth, I used to work that area...
They're illegal. Sorry if that hurts your feelings.
Las Palmas, Greystone, Scarborough Lakes... That whole area. The whole time I worked that area, I never had a Hispanic member of the public hand me any form of ID but a Consular ID card (which is issued by the Mexican Consulate in the US. It is not a legally recognized form of government identification) or a badly produced fake ID purchased online.
They don't have drivers licenses or insurance. They don't speak English. They don't pay taxes. They commit hit and runs, and carry on about their day like it's completely normal. They can be arrested and released on their own recognizance within hours regardless of the severity of the charge, because, essentially, the system is broken...
Call it what you want, but if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck........:twocents:

My friend plays indoor soccer at 34th and High School road (problem 1). He does this because he loves soccer and its the cheapest place around. Most of the teams there are Hispanic and his team is one of the only all white teams (and they are really good). Well, the game was getting physical and the ref was not saying anything. My friend was resting on the bench when 2 players got in a pushing match. Next thing he sees is a player from the other team come from behind and take a swing at his friend. This clears both benches. My friends, friend begins to run for the exit (he is a big guy, but out numbered) As he approaches the exit other Hispanics begin to enter the field from the stands. The situation just got a lot worse. Very out numbered. So my friend pulls his G26 from his book bag and enters the field keeping the weapon pointed down and breaks up the fight. He escorts the team to the concession area and waits for the cops. When the cops get there he unloads and places the weapon on the counter with his DL and LTCH. He told me the cops were pretty cool considering. They questioned him and after some time it was either take everyone to jail or no one. So they escourted one team out at a time. At this point my friend was talking guns with the cops as they walked them out and was given his gun back and went home.

At then end of the day everyone went home safe - win
The real question is if he should go back to finish the season. Before the cops arrived they were saying things like "we don't care who you bring we will f%%% you up" etc. I told him not to go back, its not worth it. they know he has a gun and their team is severely out numbered.

Interesting story, I was going to ask of a real life situation where a board member or somebody they knew had to pull out a gun.

It would be foolish to take that as an idle threat.
They really don't care who he brings... That part is true. I have responded to shooting, stabbings, and large group fights in that area many many times.
That area is a stronghold of the up and coming Latino gang known as Sureño 13. They can be extraordinarily violent, and their numbers are growing rapidly- especially in the area along West 38th St. Your friend may have noticed the abundance of "SUR" and "X3" graffiti tags in the area (including on the indoor soccer place). That is not a coincidence.
Latin Kings also have a presence there, a little further East toward Moller Rd. The two groups clash often.
If your friend lived or worked in the area, I could see returning and standing his ground... But not over a soccer game. :twocents:

Indiana law states you can not posses a firearm on school property!! Also property owned by a school!! You can lose your carry permit.........

What exactly does this have to do with anything:dunno:

OP when did this happen? My son plays there on sat. morning and since the summer they usually have security there for the nighttime leagues

Oh, btw....there are plenty of citizen dirtbags that don't pay taxes, suck at the teat of welfare, do hit & runs without real consequence, don't have licenses or insurance, and get OR'd for a laundry list of charges. But hey, at least they speak English. Sort of.

    All points well taken. :yesway:
I wasn't trying to spark an immigration debate either, and I should have stuck to more relevant points.
Your assessment of 38th St is pretty much correct as well... It's a sh*t hole. You should see the INSIDE of some of those apartments :n00b:.

Am I the only one who thinks it was a really bad idea to whip out a gun and go into the crowd? I don't care where it was pointed - sounds pretty stupid.
