Wait. I just realized. Do we all have to start denying the moon landing?
Wernher Von Braun
Sounds like some just feel like they had it coming so screw them.Seems like historical revision to get rid of a memorial reminding us of the fact that the Union killed almost 2,000 POWs at Camp Morton.
This is a political issue.
If the people (voters) want it to be moved, the political leadership should move it. Otherwise, it is public property that should be protected.

And vigilante art critics with tow ropes and torque.Solid reasoning that will likely be ignored by self serving leadership and big media.
I don't deny the moon landing took place. What I want to know is what was the real secret mission they had. Same with modern day space exploration. We arent spending billions to grow been sprouts in gel

Speaking of smug assuredness of moral superiority.
I think he's referring to Braun being an actual card carrying Nazi, and co-creator of the "V" rocket program. As far as space exploration, I don't think there's a secret (well maybe since I believe in aliens), I think it's all about who is first in militarizing the final frontier.
Lol. Broken record.
Nothing wrong with the confederacy and commemorating history. This just shows how the left is radical and will bite at any issue. They need to have a doctor issuing anti-depressants and anti-phsychotic drugs at the lefts rallys.
Indianapolis is ran by the dumb democrats and has been for a while (city council) so nothing will surprise me. They love shock value to keep their lazy base fired up.

Wait, wait, wait...
There's a whole lot wrong with the confederacy. Do we even have to discuss that?
I think it's a good thing to memorialize the lost with monuments, even for those on the losing side. My problem is with all the other moments that went up under the guise of "commemorating history" which were intended to to promote and continue the goals and aspirations of the confederacy.
Please show me where in another time or place there have been so many monuments to the leaders of losing side of any war.
I think it is perfectly fine to memorialize those that lost their lives, not so much for those that lead an effort to break the union and cling to the notion of slavery. Those statues should have never gone up, so it's fine and good if the people (via the elected) take them down.

True, but it's still a valid question. Where else do you find so many second place trophies on display? How many civil wars in history on such a scale do we have to compare against?
No matter what side they fought on, they were Americans; thus deserving. Is it a revision, or a statement that the confederate prisoners deserved to die and shouldn't be mourned?
How can my views not be superior to those that end in the slaughter of millions of people?! Literally anything else is better.
