Oh, I will work on those skills Frank, and you should work on your skills stating that you were on vacation visiting the tourist traps of Japan, and not in the small towns and villages that really are the makeup of the true Japanese culture. Only thing I can add to all of this is a strong reccomendation you never try and debate any of this head on.

It's like a deeply religious person arguing with a devout athiest that God exists or an avowed athiest arguing with a deeply religious person that God doesn't exist. The critical theory stuff in the end is a matter of faith. Statistics, argumentation, etc won't have any impact. The ones that support the position will be accepted and the ones that don't will be dismissed.

There's actually a solid argument against atheism that doesn't really involve any religious discussion or even implications for any specific belief.

Effectively, it is physically possible for matter to randomly assemble its self into a type of brain and bring forth consciousness. If this happened in a higher dimension, above time, it would basically mean that after its creation it has always existed and will always exist. It would also have absolute authority and power over all lower dimensions.
This makes it an inevitability, based on our current understanding of physics. It's a thought experiment, but it also illustrates that having faith in a god is far from irrational given this information.

I'm unsure of something equally destructive to the rigid belief system of intersectionality.

Well, you know me, CM, so if I'm involved, a thread is certain to go off the rails.

If you feel strongly enough about an issue to donate to a charity, please do it directly. United Way takes a huge portion of your contribution to feed its overhead costs. That's as much as I'm willing to say about that. Google can yield more information on that issue. It's admirable that you want to help others, but please ensure that the majority of the funds you donate go to where they are most needed.

Thank you for posting this. I was about to post something similar. United Way is nothing but a middle man looking for its cut.

These folks tend to be more two parent families, they believe with hard work they can improve their lives and that is better than getting hand outs...and most are not raising 5 kids from 5 different men that have been long gone.

I credit a stronger sense of family.

Nope. It's a bit of a paradox, isn't?


But there is some merit to it, as CP explains:

When white/money flight happens it take a huge portion of the tax base with them to the suburbs of the surrounding counties. With gentrification the whites/money move back and the tax base increases and those who live in the area of gentrification can no linger afford to stay in the homes they were living in. And with that they move to the poorer parts on the surrounding city's suburbs.
And the process starts again... Lather Rinse and Repeat...Seen it a few times with DC and parts of Balt...

Note: I was going to say this, but scrolled down before I said the exact same thing.

So, put down the pitchforks, and don't pretend it's "whitey is the devil", and accept that it is an economic issue, that's simply based on the fact that whites have a disproportionate level of wealth. Regardless of why, or how bad that is, or whatever, it's simply a fact that leads to these two situations. Until there's a more level playing field (however that happens), these two things will continue to be an issue. It's not a right or wrong thing, it's just economic forces.

I have worked with men that haven't been home in three years and have a one year old back in Puebla.

With where you live you miss seeing the migrants and short term factory workers of the rural parts of Indiana. My older sister has about 20 spanish fulltime workers and maybe 30+ H2B that are here for 9 months of the year... I would bet that 50% of them have two familys and the family here the woman they have kids with have subsided housing, wic and snap with telling the state we have no daddy around. And daddy lives with them.
Daddy is working and pays almost no tax with being 24 years old and has 6 dependants on his W2...

I can go on and on.... But like I've said not all are like that.... But most miss whats really happening....
