    Unfortunately most safes these days are all like 11 gauge steel. Easily cut pried or smashed open. 10 gauge should be the minimum you accept. But 7 is better.

    Also as others stated make sure it's bolted down and not pry accessible etc

    Unfortunately, even a heavy (7ga) safe can be accessed in about 5 min with a cordless angle grinder and some good discs.


    Most safes are hugely overpriced myths. They sell fire protection that really doesn't exist and resistance to thievery that also really doesn't exist.

    And best of all, they only cost $2000 and weigh a metric butt ton.
