I didn't mean my comment to be a slight, you're definitely entitled to pension funding.

I've held 2 union cards in this city for 16 years. You're definitely correct on "ramming it down members throats". The unions I have membership in don't even really vet the candidates, just push the D button.

My membership is based on the fact that, at least in my industry, the union does raise wages. People in my industry, that are non-union, generally make about 1/2 what I do.

Slightly off topic... I'm working in your backyard (at IMS) all week, when I can stop by for a cheeseburger?

I did not take your remark badly just still Pissed at the smart guys comment.

That is why I went to the hall. The pay scale and benefits were the draw. It did make a difference in how we lived. I also had to step it up in my learning curve as the equipment I always wanted to work on was suddenly in front of me. And there was something for me and my family at the end.

If there was a decent joint open right now I would definitely treat to a burger.

I support unions for certain things.
More conservatives need to get into union leadership positions and turn the tide.

    Oh IMS? Lucky!

Agree with both those statements as well.

IMS is looking pretty good. Penske has been busy, and has definitely spent some cash.

Am a union retiree who hasn't voted for a D since teen years. Knew just as many fellow union members who held my conservative viewpoint as those that didn't. The vast majority of fellow members worked hard and long hours in our domicile; yet there will always be someone here who heard from the friend of a friend something that contradicts what I just stated and is all too willing to paint their uninformed disparaging opinion of union membership with a wide brush. Be like me saying everyone in Indy must be a brainless dimwit looking at the people they keep putting in office.......

My union time in Indiana was great with motivated union workers. Northern Illinois, not so much.

I think the industry that the union represents has a factor in some of this. Some unions are more likely than others, to overwhelmingly support the D's.

As I mentioned, the unions I belong to, and have held an officer position in, are overwhelmingly D. That's my personal experience, not heard-it-from-a-friend stories. Although I was generalizing, it wasn't intended to be disparaging to union members.

Overall, I'm supportive of my unions, and my hardworking brothers and sisters, even if our political beliefs differ.

As too your purple. Yes I said that and yes I stand by it. And I take every opportunity that comes along to thank them for this.
Hoggbreath has been terrible in any office he has held yet these same people (well meaning good solid folks or not) keep putting him back in a seat of influence and power regardless of his steady and un-yielding lack of ability to fill any of those roles. So yes after all this time I see them as either blind to what is actually going on or they just do not give a flying **** so yes I am pissed off.
Put that in purple if you wish. I get it. No worries.

Honestly did not know my purple was directly addressing something you said. What about those in Indy that continue to vote against Hogsett? Are they also mindless dimwits?
My point was they are likely not and I actually expected that to be recognized.

To vote against him is at least taking a stand.

I have posted this repeatedly that those putting these seat fillers in office has just shown mass ignorance. So my response was geared to that. Even on FB I have made many friends (:lmfao) stating this.

Please know my anxst was not directed totally at you sir.

Looks like I'm going to be buying some fishnet from the hobby store.

Funny you mention that..... I bought some the day I heard this. I don’t live in Marion county but work inside it..... Mayor Hogs**t is a real liberal idiot. So I’ll have my net mask on so he feels better

I have no reason to go to Marion County. None. It's amazing how fast these Marxist Socialist Mayors can take a prosperous and thriving city and turn it into dungheap almost over night. Hoggset is no democrat...the democrats of your fathers have been dead and buried...these are the new faces of American Marxism.

I heard them say on WIBC that the fine for not wearing a mask was $1000! WTF?!

My mask has been ordered. Just waiting for it to arrive:

I think I heard (on tv news) that the fine was more likely to be levied against businesses not enforcing the policy than it was to be levied against individuals. Not saying they couldn't fine individuals, but that it was primarily for businesses.

(apologies if this is a dupe rant)

And this is a flat out chicken s*** way to govern. And I will say that loudly to his face if given the chance. (but we know that wont happen unless I storm his office and literally fight through security and forcefully break down his office door.) If you want to force us to do something, enforce it directly. Send out your IMPD officers and even the city code enforcement workers with their little ticket books and write us citations to our faces like a REAL leader with a spine. Dont foist this on the businesses and make them do your dirty work for you because they fear for their livelihood. This reminds me of the POS business owner (like one I used to work for) that sends a coworker who is not your supervisor in to terminate you so he doesnt have to do it to your face.

I want to know what gives Hogsett the authority to command this over all of Marion County. He is the Mayor of Indianapolis, not a county commissioner. Everyone is giving him more power than the people did upon voting.
