I lived on a 34' sailboat in the Abacos for several years many years ago.

I'm envious! (Of you and hoosierdoc)

"Where it all ends I can't fathom my friends
If I knew I might toss out my anchor
So I cruise along always searchin' for songs
    Not a lawyer a thief or a banker" :)

(Oh, and be glad you didn't live in a trailer.) ;)

took the last plane out of Saigon,
took the first fast boat to China
and Jimmy there's still so much to be done"

Well we only had six ballyhoo. For the week. It was $26/3. Ouch.

We caught a 21” mackerel in under 30 mins from dropping the line in. I want a freaking Mahi Mahi. Tomorrow I have high hopes since we’re heading outside the south side of Virgin Gorda and it drops a mile deep about 4nm out. Need more ballyhoo!

If you can't find more ballyhoo, you could always try some fanfare or brouhaha. ;)

Damn, that's a big ass fish!
    How heavy is that thing?

Doc, with all those pictures of you posing with a fish you could start your own thread similar to the one about "hot chicks fishing. :):

Hah, I thought about posting it in there :):

we hooked two within five minutes of starting. One on a yo-yo hand line with a lure and one on the trolling rod with a ballyhoo. So much fun. Caught a third an hour later

now we’re heading in to Jost Van dyke. We rigged our own ballyhoo, that was... interesting

You probably need to wear a mankini to be popular in that thread. :faint:

Ballyhoo is a type of fish that you use as a lure to catch bigger fishes? I don't know anything about fishing.

No idea what any of that means, but it sounds like you're enjoying yourself.

Correct! They almost look like a miniature swordfish! We caught a Baracuda on one yesterday off of Key West. Try and post a picture later.
