I know there is one party that continues to expand the scope of government constantly increases the debt obligation placed on the backs of our children and grandchildren. I will call it the "party of state".

    What's the other party?

Without the Second Amendment we have no means to fight off a tyrannical government. Without 2A nothing else matters. Dems want 2A gone.

    Seems pretty simple? :dunno:

You'd think that. But you probably understand how the game is currently played. Most of these third-party egotists should simply write themselves in when they go to vote, because at the end of the day, no one else will ever be pure enough.

“If the natural tendencies of mankind are so bad that it is not safe to permit people to be free, how is it that the tendencies of these organizers are always good? Do not the legislators and their appointed agents also belong to the human race? Or do they believe that they themselves are made of a finer clay than the rest of mankind?”

This ^. The party that supports the 2nd gets my vote. Without the 2nd, all other rights will fall.

It oft said by, particularly seasoned individuals, that "I vote for the man" and it is usually worn as a badge indicating they are smart and independent. Horse Hockey!

There was a time, and our elders were right when they said it for their time, but that time has passed. In Federal elections today the vote is for the team, not the individual. There are some variations on the team accounting for regional differences but in the end the team members vote with the team an astounding percentage of the time, there is no independence in DC today.

Yesterday Pelosi and AOC made clear that it is team voting not individuals making independent decisions and it works the same accross the isle.

the Democrats conducted a closed-door session during which House Speaker Nancy Pelosi warned over 20 supposed moderate members of her party, “We are either a team or we’re not, and we have to make that decision.”

Ocasio-Cortez’s spokesman Corbin Trent added that she fumed that any Democrats voting with Republicans “are putting themselves on a list.”

This is how the elected see it, the old school naïveté does not fly today. Vote for the "man" in the primary but in the election the only thing being voted on is the team.

    MM

Bull****. AOC and Nancy Pelosi are ideologue ****s. So because they’re ideologue ****s you want to be an ideologue **** too? If they jumped off the left side of a a bridge would you jump off the bridge too? Well, the right side.

It’s turning into a team sport though. People get divided and they take sides. The more you think that way the more divided and deluded the teams become. “Team” thinking is fine for sports and nebulous employers’ metaphors. The problem with team thinking is that it leads to a group sort of think where legalistic people devise rules of purity and expect everyone on the team to conform. **** that. I’ll think for myself, thank you. “Groupthink” isn’t just a thing on the left. The groupthink on the right is more subtle, but it’s there.

That said, when the logical conclusion of your voting system is a binary choice between just two directions, a person who guards himself from groupthink, avoids teams, still picks the least bad direction.

In 2020, if the choice is between a bat**** crazy socialist and a crass, authoritarian, ethically corrupt capitalist, I’ll take the capitalist because at least with capitalism is the only economic system of the two friendly to individuals.

So. There is no need to join a teams and accept the team rules. No need to pick the man. Just pock the outcome. **** teams.

You vote for the Democrat and you are voting for gun control. Support them AT ANY LEVEL and you are supporting their ultimate goal of completely disarming us. Simple as that.

In many elections, the same can be said for throwing away your vote on a third party that cannot win. And of course, opting out of voting is standing back to let them have their way. :twocents:
    See?

I'm gong to keep being 'Stupid'.

I'm going to research the issues, and checking on vote record of incumbents.
I'm going to keep hearing out the prospects seeing where they stand on this issues,
And I'm going to continue voting for less incumbents that don't do what they said they were going to do,
And vote for someone new that hasn't lied about their positions.

Since I vote issues AND RECORDS, I only know one way to do this, so it's going to take time & effort.
While an election is a Popularity Contest, electing the 'Cult Of Personality' candidates hasn't worked out well for the country.
What? And think for yourself? Pffft. Your conservative overlords know best. You’re unpure.

My Grandpa used to say "I always vote for the man, it isn't my fault that has always been the Republican".
I’m not really saying a lot differently. Democrats rarely check enough boxes for me that they’re the least worst outcome. And since they’ve gone totally bat **** crazy, ain’t a chance in hell I’d vote for that outcome. Unfortunately that lowers the bar for the outcome I’m willing to settle for.

Which Democrats aren't for gun control? What is their party's position on this?
Not all Democrats are in favor of gun control. Some moderate Democrats from red states are no worse than the Fuddy Republicans. But, as a party, Democrats do support gun control. It’s in their platform.

I don't disagree, but if you're torn on which party (ies) best represent your viewpoint, then maybe you should abstain from voting. The choices are clear. The lines have been drawn, in terms of ideology. One side is hedging all bets that socialism is the way to go, and they will push that to the hilt, and never, ever, stop. If you don't agree with that, you'll support the other party. There is really no ambiguousness.

    .
What? See, this kinda smells like the form of groupthink I’m talking about. People have a right to think differently from you. They have a right to prioritize different issues. If that means they don’t see one much better than the other, maybe they’ll go third party. IT’S NOT YOUR VOTE! You have your own vote.

That said, there’s nothing wrong with making your case for why you think the outcome you’re choosing is better.

This is INGO, *****. we make up our own words. And **** you. elections have consequences, and only 2 parties count. Respectfully,

    Steve
That’s one opinion. You’re no more entitled to yours than anyone else. I tend to vote for the least worst most likely outcome. That means it’s either the douche or the turd. From there it’s nust a simple question of which one ove those is least worse.
