If NASCAR banning the racist loser flag and NFL athletes expressing popularly-held views is what you disagree with so much that it motivates you to cancel mainstream sports, that's your choice, but the national anthem before every game, constant military recruitment advertisements and military appreciation ceremonies, military aircraft flyovers, military-themed NFL and NASCAR apparel, White House visits, etc just wasn't political enough for ya? Pro sports has always been and will always be politicized, the popular views are all that's changed.

Funny. I don't recall them asking their fans to determine if these political changes are "popular views". I doubt very much that you have any evidence of such either. I don't think that phrase means what you think it means.

I don't consider the national anthem, fly-over, or military recruitment political. That's pro-American to me. I can see your point on White House visits.

I quit watching NFL when they started taking a knee . . . you stand for the national anthem.

You know I don't miss watching the games.

Do you really expect people not to notice and complain when NASCAR promotes BLM (not to mention a hoax) but refuses to accept sponsorship from firearms companies? Or when the NBA refuses to allow any criticism of China while encouraging criticism of the United States and bans "Free Hong Kong" from jerseys but allows "Burn Jews" and "F Cops"? Or the NFL allows a show of support for BLM but won't allow teams to show support for cops?

Only kept satellite tv around to watch the Blackhawks. Finally got rid of it a couple years ago and haven’t looked back. The wife watches Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy on the free tv.

I am not a spectator. If I watch something it is because I am either doing it or am getting ready to do it. When I played tennis, I watched tennis. When I retired from tennis, I quit watching it. Same with everything else, whether it was triathlon, Crossfit, cooking or home improvement. I watch to learn.

I don't have time to spectate.

So, you find it difficult to understand how a NFL player making millions of dollars a year is somehow disadvantaged because of his skin color?

People make their own choices, but not only have I given up pro sports, I have not watched TV in 6+ years and I don't miss it. Remember all that reloading, shooting, etc. you just somehow never seemed to get to? Try cutting the cord, no not just TV cable, but unplug the darn thing. If you are honest, you don't find it all that entertaining anyway. Spend more time with your family.

A rich man can still be the target of racism.

Money just makes it a whole lot easier to deal with it.

    What?

First, nobody really cared about NASCAR banning the confederate flag. Sure, some people did, but that wasn’t what the backlash was about. The backlash was because they allowed kneeling during the national anthem, a black lives matter car, and staged a noose in the garage of the only black driver. First, nobody cared about bubbas race. He was a NASCAR driver to all of us, it didn’t matter if he was white black brown or purple, he drove a car in a sport we loved. It wasn’t until he started using his race to promote himself that he began getting negative attention.

As for the NFL, “popularly held views”? By who? Other rich people who throw a ball around? How about not using your company as a microphone to promote your beliefs and opinions, and instead entertaining the fans that pay for tickets? That’s their job. Their “popularly held views” are just them attempting to create an echo chamber, example... drew brees. He spoke out about the anthem and they beat him into submission. Other words, it’s ok to express your opinions, as long as they are in line with the higher ups opinions. If not, you’ll be forced to take it back and apologize. Is that a world you wanna live in? Where you can only express your opinions if everyone else around you agrees with them?

How about people just knock the bs off and play sports. Throw your football, collect your check, and stfu. Drive your car, turn left, collect your check, and stfu. Their opinions don’t matter any more than any of ours do. I can live without them.

I am fed up with professional sports pushing their agendas down my throat. Today, it seems like all of them have their agendas from professional football to NASCAR. All I want is to enjoy the event, the way it use to be. It is about time we, the fans, stop paying for their multi million dollar contracts by not going to the events, watching the events on TV and buying their high priced merchandise most likely made in China.

You won't be alone.... the NBA can go to Hell along with their BLM sidelines and "social justice" on the jersey bull****.

You need to educate yourself. I realize school doesn't teach true history any longer, but try a little research before blasting off about things you don't know, just because you heard it from the media, or read it on the internet.
Obviously, the popularly held views, aren't all that popular.
And... the military is what protects your right to come in here and.... be wrong.

I haven’t watched NBA since the pacers/Detroit fight. I knew then it was turning into a bunch of thugs. Turns out I was right.

Has anyone heard anything on the MLB? I love baseball, but haven’t been following them during the corona bs since they haven’t been on. Have they sided with the terrorist also? At this rate all I’m gonna be able to watch it golf and hockey
