Agreed. That kind of "coincidence" stinks. Smells like cheap honing oil dripping off an axe. (And if you have ever used cheap honing oil, you know exactly what I mean)

I'm awaiting more info too. We all make mistakes, and my overall (very positive) opinion of Nick has not changed much. If true, I'm disappointed but am reminded of Matthew 7:3.

It’s a shame when it happens, and if found guilty I hope gets punished the same as any citizen would... but let’s not forget who protects us daily, and no matter what plague or disaster happens still goes to work and does their job. The smell of Hoppes #9 reminds me of deer hunting with dad as a kid/teen. I don’t use it, makes my eyes water but I do miss the smell sometimes.

I hope things turn out better than they look at first glance. He's been an amazing friend and mentor to me personally, and a natural leader for our community. In my experience he has been nothing but a stand-up guy. My strongest initial reaction is skepticism, followed by an inclination to reject this as irrelevant regardless of any potential truth...it doesn't change my evaluation of the man in the slightest.
