Wonder what the carry rates are in constitutional carry states. No way to know.

It might be around the same as Indiana.
In Indiana pretty much anyone who wants to carry can get a LTCH.
I don't think you would have more people carrying if you didn't need one.
Some people don't have the desire to carry.

Based on a representative sample of Hoosiers (4 of my family members and myself) who have Lifetime LTCHs: 2 carry regularly, 3 do not. Therefore 40% of Hoosiers would carry regularly if Indiana was a Constitutional Carry State. OK, 2 divided by 5 is .4, you gotta give me that much.

Good on the Hoosier state for leading the way in concealed carry, and it must be noted, with no "blood running in the streets", as the loony left predicts every time freedom reigns.

What's that work out to something like 1 in 7 adults have a LTCH ?

I think that's 1 in 8 if you take the total population (6,620,000/799,546).
I don't know the number for the adult population only.

Plus over 13,000 LEOs that can carry off duty without a LTCH (I guess some of them also have one).
    That's lot of people carrying.

Not to mention the ones carrying illegally ... that's a lot of armed people.

Plus all the long-gun-only folks, with no LTCH. I know several of those. Hunters and the like.

Of the 4 licensed carriers in my immediate family, only I carry routinely. So, 25%. ;)

Well we're just talking about the people who carry guns, not the ones who own them.
I don't know how many people carry a long gun everyday.

I bet you have lots of people who own handguns just for home defense or sport shooting and who don't have a need for a LTCH.

Neat BB3, thanks for that. I would share this with my anti-gun BIL (who lives in TX nonetheless) but we don't talk. Our last real discussion was about 'common sense gun laws' and can't we come to some agreement? My answer...no, never; because I'm not giving any more ground and you won't see reason.

With all those firearms, you think some would be easier to find when I go diving in local lakes.

Who said anything about firearms? I just have a LTCH not an actual handgun! Those are dangerous, I just like collecting licenses next up is my license to paint toenails.

There are other categories, some knowable (numbers in constitutional carry states) and those dwindling few that still require OC only, but this still makes me feel pretty good.
