If /when medical marijuana passes, guess how many middle and high school kids will start having back pain? Answer: most of them.

The old joke doctor line was "Take 2 aspirins and call me in the morning." It would change to, "Dude! Take 2 special brownies and call me in the morning."

With obesity and lack of activity...it just may be true.

Weed will help with that, I'm sure. One thing kids need is something to stimulate their appetite and suppress their ambition.

It's not encouraging that the champion of a lot of our state 2A advancements is pushing to legalize drugs. :xmad:

IMHO, all "recreational" intoxicants should be illegal.

    Then go for it.

synthetic molecules are pure as the wind-driven snow though :twocents:

Not sure if You're being sarcastic as theres no Purple. You're the doc but somehow I doubt that, but really how pure is wind driven snow? Did the Pharmaceutical companies tell you that line, or do you actually make these drugs so you physically know and see what goes in them. Just asking and not trying to be a douche. I personally don't trust anything that big pharma puts out there. To me, everytime i see a commercial, the side effects are far worse than what ailes you. I really dont want any anal seepage, cancer, heart problems, etc, etc, etc. Thats just my :twocents:

Yea I've come to the opinion that, while there are a lot of good/needed drugs, there are also a lot of over prescribed and unnecessary drug peddling done by pharma companies. Also the kickbacks some physicians get are despicable.

I'm "a" doc, not "the" doc

I have no skin in the game. I'm advocating against medical, I say just legalize it and let patients choose.

And yes, recombinant and synthesized stuff is very, very pure. Not pushing an agenda, not getting a kickback, not saying marinol will give you the same effect as smoking a joint, not saying it's better, just saying it exists and it's quite pure. It has to be, it's regulated and stuff.

For every unnecessary drug there are 1000 patients asking for a drug to fix their vague complaint that could likely be fixed by diet or lifestyle modification. The drugs are made to satisfy the demand of the patient, not the other way around.

I dont smoke now, and i never have even tried it. However, when i watched marijuana calm down and help my cousin with cancer years ago i was sold. I absolutely support this passing.

I'd believe it but Dr's must be capitulating to patients for this to continue.

My biggest thing is the "Who's" regulating the stuff. Not just this but all pharmaceuticals. Pretty much all self regulated or by the CDC whom which is just in collision with big pharma.
Im not a marijuana user or advocate and really could care either way. I do believe that it could provide tax dollars, but meh, they'll just be wasted or stuck in a surplus while they up the taxes everywhere else anyway.

that's why we need to expand the welfare state, so they can all lay around smoking dope and wasting their lives on the public dole. Vote socialism in now!

well sure, it's a service industry after all. Gotta keep your patient happy. PLUS, we know the patients will NOT do the diet/lifestyle modifications...

Dont you think though that by prescribing these not needed pharmaceuticals your the pusher on the corner. Seems to me that this is part of the problem with pharmaceutical drug abuse is the docs prescribing them when they are not needed nor effective. Once again, not trying to be a ahole, so please dont take it as such.

He's mentioned that he was going to have competition this next election. I had a passing thought that his sudden and enthusiastic embracing of this, might mean he might be worried about whomever is running against him this time and he's trying to widen his base.
