Maybe the title to the post should be "INGO Jailers, please weigh in on this." Because as a patrol officer, this has nothing to do with me. And you're dragging the police into this argument. Yea, the Sheriff is in charge of the jail, and deputies have police authority. BUT this circumstance has nothing to do with enforcing laws in public, and has everything to do with day-to-day SOP inside of a jail. Two very completely different beasts.
