Obamagonnaneedajob has said he wanted a civilian force as large and well funded as our military. I am wondering if he is using the TSA to implement this vision. The head of the TSA John Pistole has requested that Congress deputize "certain" TSA agents (which we all know eventually means all) as federal LEOs.

I'm not a conspiracy thoerist by any stretch, but my radar is up when the President basically affirms that the TSA is acting in our best interest and he's satisfied they're not out of bounds.

That's because he and his young daughters don't have to go through scanners. Neither do congress critters. They get led around the lines and escorted away from the peons. Of course they're all for it. They'll never have to get groped.

While they might not be as elite as the Nazi SS, they are using the same excuses as the Nazis did to explain their atrocities. They were just doing as they were told.

The TSA is simply a new jobs/makework/buy votes program. Congress is not going to make it change and as soon as the law suits start flying it will bevome a tax funded feast for lawyers. Homeland security will bankrupt the country over the long term.

...not hardly. The SS were well trained... the best and hand picked. TSA are mall cop wannabe's.

The SS were good at mindlessly obeying orders and goose-stepping. I'd put my money on a battalion of mall ninjas over those guys.

    ^^ This ^^

It always does. That's why all the great civilizations colonialized. They ran out of resources and had to expand the empire.

The second law of theromodynamics applies to political entities too.

What James Madison had to say

"The house of representatives ... can make no law which will not have its full operation on themselves and their friends, as well as the great mass of society.

This has always been deemed one of the strongest bonds by which human policy can connect the rulers and the people together.

It creates between them that communion of interest, and sympathy of sentiments, of which few governments have furnished examples; but without which every government degenerates into tyranny."

    . --James Madison, Federalist No. 57, 1788

+1 there. Have you seen some of these bafoons? To show you how sharp they are, my dad & I flew out to Denver a few years back to look at a job. We swapped boarding pass to see what would happen. Got through no problem. These guys could give 2 squats about their job. Half of them have the IQ of room temperature. First line of defense? I'd rather take my chances. :n00b:

Flying is a right now? If I am going to be stuck on a plane that I have no control over, I don't want anyone else unauthorized to have an advantage over me. Frisk everyone who doesn't want the scan. If they don't like it, they don't have to fly. Its not a right. Those planes are not owned by the government...Yet....

Now once that chances....***** all you want.

So where do you draw the line at government violating your privacy? If you're too afraid to fly without getting scanned or groped don't fly.

Huh? Isn't that what I just said?:dunno: And the government is not forcefully violating your privacy. You are choosing to either let them or not. The latter will result in an alternate mode of transportation, but at least your "privacy" will be in tact. What's the big deal? I'm not saying I agree with getting groped, but I also get groped at colts games and pacer games as well before entering. Should I sue them too? I would rather be frisked and watch my sports game or fly to my destination than not. My choice. Not the governments.Businesses all over the country have rules to follow and if you don't you dont' get service or product from them. What's different here since these airlines aren't owned by the government?
