I think your missing the point of his answer. He knows how the game is played, and how the media works. IMO he was simply refusing to give any definite answer at this time so as not to allow the liberal media to start their smear/lie campagin. Which they will.

Time will tell WHAT the new Speaker is going to do. Besides, he has already stated that there will be a vote on repealing ObamaCare. It won't go anywhere, but it will be symbolic. ObamaCare is one of the MAIN reasons the Democrats were spanked in November.

I can think of a thousand things to cut. One is the military. And I am pro military. Why do we still have troops in Germany? The same place I served almost 40 years ago. Now there is no East and West. A 10% reduction in cost would not be noticed. Put the troops where we need them and finish these wars and bring our kids home.

He sure does cry a lot. Suck it up and be a leader. Ever see a true leader cry? Ike, Patton, Reagan) I'm showing my age. I didn't think so. I say cut all by 10%. It will never be missed. There is a huge amount of waste.

So? Let them smear all they want, it still doesn't change what needs to be done, and I highly doubt that this man will step up to the plate when he needs too. Newt Gingrich has shown the same incompetency. I'm sick and tired of these people that talk the talk but don't walk the walk. Stop blubbering and let your voting record speak for itself. Being vague is how Obama got elected, I suppose it works for Boehner too. :dunno:

toldjaso!!!!!!!!!!!! maybe not you guys,,,but other guys... i told everyone what the republicans really are...

I saw it on the Ed Schultz show. A super liberal guest had a longer list of things he would cut than Boehner did, and he didn't even mention the military. This is a joke.

You can think that if you want ... and you may be right ... But I don't .
Of this reason ... I take a man at his word .
If you don't want to tip your hand .. just be quiet .

What I see here .. at this point is either the same old Republican country club business as usually or he is a lier .

    Thanks

We'll never leave. Having out troops spread around the globe is a tactical advantage.

And that is the worse part of "professional" politicians. They can't say anything that may offend anyone. They are in it for a job and if they **** off anyone, they may loose their job and may never get another one outside politics because they are not qualified. I hate professional politicians. That is not what the Constitution was founded on. Now it's a career or power.

That is why I said "time will tell". When it really comes down to it IMO, it's WAY past too late to save it. We have become corrupt, bankrupt, and NO ONE has the balls to change it. Again IMO we are so far gone only a dictator (with honorable intentions, IF there is such an animal) with total power could reverse the course we are on. And then return the government back to the people.

We have too many lazy uneducated morons in this country, and they still can vote. And they will vote for the politician that promises them the most "stuff".

I hate to tell you guys, I am sorta of ashamed because I lean a little to the right but
Goldman Sachs, Google, Citigroup, R.J. Reynolds

Thats your new speaker of the house. We are talking about the same guy who wrote over 10 checks from big tobacco on the house floor less than 15 minutes before a major vote.

    for our enemies,,,

I listen to my father in these situation, his career and clearance level surpass (im guessing) most people on here as well as anyone in the media/civilian realm. I mean, considering his job is providing tools for tactical advantages and soldier preservation.

Regardless, if something happens in turkey and we have troops there or nearby wouldnt that make it better for us rather than deploying everyone from here and having to wait for people/gear/structure to get there. If you were talking about a war on us soil... then youd be right, but I think we do a good enough job of defending our country abroad.

...not that I wouldnt like to see some reform (and a repeal of rules of engagement) C.O.I.N. must be upheld though, or we wont get anywhere with the natives.

Is anyone concerned with the whole, north korea having nuke plants and being allies with china, thing. Not to mention the fact that china owns 2/3 of our debt and could crush us without firing a single bullet.

Cut other dumb stuff before military. Like volcano monitoring or how about social security. My generation wont see a penny of it anyway. All this anti SOCIALIST talk and we still have SOCIALsecurity.

Are you guys enjoying the price increase in gas? Our government invested so much in "green" energy and now that gas is cheaper they are losing money... Maybe we should invest in domestic oil instead of following the completely retarded theory that the earth is heating up.
