It really is a sad situation. I feel for the guy's family, having to witness that. I cannot understand why anyone would carry without a holster. Even a $10 clip on holster will provide protection against things like this.

Why in the hell would you spend the money on a quality firearm and not put out the $50 to $100 more to buy a quality holster to go with it?

Tragic and unneeded loss of life here because of abject stupidity.
I feel for the family and my prayers are with them.

Don't use a leather holster with a GLOCK

A leather holster is just fine for a Glock, or any other striker fire handgun, as long as it's a GOOD leather holster, in GOOD condition. Like anything else, it NEEDS to be cared for and checked for wear.

IWB leather holsters should ALWAYS have re-enforced openings, IMO.

I just started carrying, had a Kahr CM9. I just sold it to go with a BG380 for the manual safety. I had the Kahr in an IWB holster, but for some reason it always concerned me that it didn't have a safety. To each their own. This is tragic for the family involved, mostly because it could have been prevented.

I don't know my galco holsters, but this one doesn't appear to cover the trigger completely. Even if it were new, it looks like the trigger might have been exposed.

Agreed...and it was worn to the point that the holster was creasing and bending (which cheap leather holsters will do).
