Never been to Disneyland, have you? They use fingerprint scanners to speed things up, too.
:laugh: Those things don't work worth a crap.

They put them in place to stop people from buying multi-day passes (much cheaper) then selling their leftover days to ticket resellers.

That's how we went to Disney; saved us a bunch of money. The scanners are supposed to keep you from using a ticket that was originally used with somebody else's fingerprint. It doesn't work very well. My wife and I used our tickets multiple times and it only rejected me one time (worked on the second try though).

These resellers actually make pretty good money at this. When my in-laws went the passes they had were getting low on days, so the ticket guy said that if they put X many days on them he would reimburse them for 110% of the cost. So they did it, they each added like $300 worth of extra days on their tickets, and the ticket guy gave them $330 cash when they returned their tickets.

But that's not to say that the technology can't be improved in the future.

And so we know how it begins.... Govt workers, service members, convicted fellons thats how it will start. Then when there is a health scare, they will require it before treatment. Then it will grow till the majority are under control. The only ones left will be the old-timers living in a shack in the west Texas desert who never leaves the area for any reason and will eventually die off and not be worth the fight to chip anyway. The rest would be newborn implants by law and then you get total population chipment over a long term period. Once say you hit 60% or so you could mandate it for everyone else and make it illegal to not be chipped. Then the buying /selling rule for 100% co operation. How far are we from this reality? How long would it take? A generation? Ten years, five maybe? Can it be stopped or are we too late? Questions, details, uncertanty, fear, anger. Where do we go from here?

Where do we go from here?

Doesn't matter what the press says. Doesn't matter what the politicians or the mobs say. Doesn't matter if the whole country decides that something wrong is something right. This nation was founded on one principle above all else: the requirement that we stand up for what we believe, no matter the odds or the consequences. When the mob and the press and the whole world tell you to move, your job is to plant yourself like a tree beside the river of truth, and tell the whole world - "No, you move."

    That sounds familiar.

Chips may be a moot point as DHS is currently (or about to) test iris scanners, some of which work at a distance.
