    You know... I distinctly remember NOT shooting that rifle actually. I feel shunned! I had it my hands and I let it slip right through!! ahhhhhh

    Looks good. Great actually. I love that sling.

    Umm... Where are the pictures of groups you've shot with this?

    That's a sweet looking rifle, but how does it shoot?

    She shoots excellently!

    So far I've put roughly 300 trouble-free rounds through it. No hiccups thus far. I've been running it very dry. I know ARs generally like it wet, but I've been curious to see at what point I will begin to notice any fouling due to being too dirty or too dry. So far so good.

    I've shot mostly 5.56/.223, but last weekend I ran lovemywood's Ceiner .22 conversion in it. Ran like a top.

    As this is a fighting carbine and not a precision rifle, I haven't saved any targets or photographed any groupings. When I was initially sighting it in it was showing 1" groups @ 50 yards.

    If all goes as planned, she'll be baptized later this summer in a carbine class. :D

    I'll be heading to the range early morning Sat. if you feel up to an EARLY morning range visit. Gonna be warming the Glock for some ACT pistol fun in Greencastle later in the evening. Who knows... perhaps you may actually let me shoot that mystical rifle that slips through my fingers!

    I'm jealous also, I WANT TO GO TO CLASS!!!

    UPDATE!

    Thanks to Cwood @ Indiana Supply Depot, my CTR and new Streamlight PolyTac LED came today! I also bought a TangoDown PR-4 from lovemywoods. He threw in a Wilderness single point sling that I will keep as a backup to my VTAC.

    I took it down to my folks place and had my amateur photographer Mother take some quick 'glamour shots'.

    This is just a tease, but here is an untouched sample. . .

    I'll be looking to write a full review on the Streamlight PolyTac LED. With brief out-of-the-package handling it seems like an excellent alternative to Surefire's G2LED. The PolyTac, along with the Viking Tactics mount, make one heck of a weapon light system for only $55 TOTAL!

    More pics to follow in the next few days!

    The VTac mount is $24.95 and I will have some of them in the next week when I place an order for them and the VTac slings. The Streamlight PolyTac LED light is $34.99. and I am trying to get more of them. My supplier is out of stock right now.

    The VTac mount is $24.95

    I should probably modify my original statement, as I found my VTAC light mount at the last Indy 1500 for $20, as it did not include the extra "shim" for smaller diameter lights.

    How many lumens is that light? That's a pretty good price for the mount and light.

    Here is a simple numbers comparison with the Surefire G2LED:

    Lumens
    PolyTac = 120
    G2 = 80

    Runtime
    PolyTac = 3 hrs
    G2 = 12 hrs

    Price
    PolyTac = $35
    G2 = $55
