Not sure if it's been mentioned, but we just put a deposit down for a Ruger SR9C for my fiance...she loved it...even after checking out a Kahr, M&P, and a Sig P238 she decided on the Ruger

Just a bit of feedback from a similar experience with my wife. We decided on a .38 snubbie for her based on ease of concealing, light weight, and easy controls. After shooting it in a training class she realized that she really didn't like it. She shot a 1911 and immediately fell in love. So, we traded off he .38 for a colt defender in 9mm. She loves it, and even bough it is a bit more complicated, she can shoot more accurately with it.

Don't want to talk you out of the .38, but wanted to share that experience.

Same situation for my gf she hated her .38 so we sold it and went with a p238 that she originally wanted.

Smith & Wesson 642LS LadySmith or a
Kahr PM9, or a Glock 26. My wife has had all three. Let her pick. But what ever she pick include a safety course and plenty of range time!
