I'm in the process of re configuring my coyote rifle to save some weight. I ordered a Magpul Hunter and it showed up today. I added the QD adapters that I ordered with it and the short rail section for my bipod before making sure the barreled action fit ok. I'm going to have to open up the bottom metal to clear the wide trigger shoe of the Timney but otherwise the fit was good. It's not bolted down in the pics, new action screws will be here tomorrow.
The only issue was that I couldn't use it with my tripod which is a critical component to my coyote hunting. I gave it a look and decided that the stock looked like it might come apart OK so I started removing the screws and before I knew it, it was in pieces.
So I did a little eyeballing and a little trimming
Then a little bit of grinding
Then voila, she's got a rail so I can lock it into the tripod now.
Didn't own it for five hours before taking a significant chunk out of the resale value. That might be a record but it might not be. It's a rare firearm related item that I can leave well enough alone.
I'll get some pics of it in the tripod tomorrow once the barreled action is locked down.
