I keep the double barrel next to the bed, AR under, 1911 in its holster on the headboard and hi-power in the go bag that I keep hung under the holster. My wife keeps a handgun under her side of the mattress, one under the bed, one hanging from her side of the headboard in a holster, and one in her purse that she keeps next to the bed. I dont keep track of what one she keeps where at any point in time, but usually it includes a 12 gauge and a large caliber pistol in the mix. I guess its all of the above, X2, in my house.

I dont have a nightstand. I got my Glock23 on top of the gun cabinet (next to door, with the maglite... And I can have the AR in a second, along with a few other "lovely" choices.

Dont sleep with guns, sleep with your spouse.

I keep my g23 on the night stand and my 870 next to it in the corner. I figure if I need to grab something super quick I can grab the glock the fastest, and if I have a second or two to arm myself I can get to the shottie

My EDC is on the nightstand next to me everynight. I have an 8yr old in the house so all other guns are in the safe. As for sleeping with long guns, find a female they are alot more fun to sleep with and put the firepower bedside.
It's your opinion that women are more fun. I find them to be good for nothing more than a cheap good time. I have more fun cleaning my guns.

Only one kid still at home and he has a M&P next to his bed. Wife has her 40 in nightstand on her side of bed and my Colt 1911 comes off my belt and into the nightstand on my side of the bed when I lay down.

Some of us might have been scouts, Always Prepared. Not a lot of good having tons of things, and no way to defend them. I dont think waving private parts at criminals will scare them off, I prefer to use my firearms for that

I live in a terribly upscale neighborhood (18 year old, living with parents). Just that fact tends to attract attention from lesser fortunate individuals. Thats why I keep a gun next to my bed.

Multiple shootings and stabbings (drugs, domestics and random acts of violence) within a mile in the past year, an average of 2-3 deputies to cover the whole county during the night time hours, burglaries taken a 30% spike in recent months. Nope I live in the neighborhood with the lowest crime rate in the county according to the UCR, I just understand that good neighborhood doesn't translate into automatically safe; and have responded accordingly.

Have kids, 5,8, and 14. On the night stand next to the bed. Started teaching my kids years ago about firearms and how dangerous they can be. They know which ones they can touch and when they can touch them.

Still working with my youngest trying to get him to back off the scope a bit and keep his body lined up with rife. After he grows a little more it shouldn't be much of a problem. Other than that, he's got the basics down.
