Nobody told me you had a Grendel that needed to be shot out there today... Darn, Oh well it would only make me spend more money quicker to get all the parts to put another AR together... Kind of like the ballistics of that cartridge, haven't shot one yet though... Maybe next month. The day was very nice, finally no rain on shoot day... Enjoyed the meet, looking forward to the next... Ghost, take care of that hand.

I really WANTED to make the shoot, but with the pain meds and the long drive I just didn't feel up to it. On the upside I am already starting to regain feeling in a couple of the fingers that have been numb for several months. As for the Hot Dogs Bob...I will just stop by the shop next week and grab acouple! LOL Glad everyone had a great time.

I better go dig those left over hot dogs out of the woods, if the raccoons didn't get them :):

Glad you are feeling a bit better.

It looks like Wednesday early afternoon may have become a regular gun meeting time at the Pine Island lounge if you want to swing by.

You missed Juan shooting to the left with his new Glock 34. Someone needs to diagnose his shooting style/trigger control to get him back to center of mass. He did much better with my CZ pistols than he did with the Glock, closer to center, but still pushing to the left of center. And Bob Anderson was like a kid in a candy store playing with all the guns, he brought out a box and a half of cigars so I didn't have to give away any more of your Victor Sinclairs :@ya:

Oh, and I brought out a pink pistol but nobody was man enough to shoot it.

AH HA! I got him now! u c @ the range he said "it's my daughters" to try and cover up the fact that it is really HIS pink gun! But alas he did an I7BO and had a slip of the tongue and we now have proof that it is HIS pink gun!

    I7BO's slip up.

Sounds like I missed MORE than sharing some laughs and burning some gunpowder. Cigar Bob, What cigars did you bring with? Were they the same ones from the last cigar nite? Looking forward to melansdad carrying them so I can pick up a bundle or two.....along with the Victor Sinclairs of course ;)

Since the other Bob didn't answer, I'll jump in with a couple cheapo suggestions.

    1. A ziplock freezer bag. The freezer bags are heavier and have a better seal than regular sandwich bags. But any of the bags is better than no bag. Put the cigars in the bag, store it in 70 degree temperature room, out of the sunlight. You may want to wet a Kleenex, but not soaking wet, get it wet, squeeze the moisture out so it does not drip at all, slip that in the bag but make sure it is NOT in contact with the cigars or even the cellophane.

    2. A wide mouth pop bottle like a 20-oz Pepsi bottle. Seal tight. Similar to the ziplock bag above with slightly moist kleenex.

    3. IGLOO cooler or lunchbox. Buy a "humitrol" block, moisten it, insert it into the cooler/lunchbox. Keep the cigars in the cooler/lunchbox but not in contact with the humitrol block.

Under all circumstances check your cigars every day or two to make sure they do not get too dry or too moist. If they get too warm and too moist they will mold so keep them from getting too hot. There are also tobacco parasites that can eat holes in your cigars if they get too warm. Ideally you want them between 65 and 72 degrees and you want them near 70% humidity.

Sounds like you guys had a nice time on Saturday. I was thinking of coming but went the ohter direction and spent part of the afternoon over at the DNR range at Huntington/Roush Lake. Took one of my daughters and we had a pretty good time.

Second the motion on zip-lock bags for temporary cigar storage. I've been to cigar stores who do that for you if you buy singles or a small # and I do that myself when I'm travelling and want jsut one or two cigars with me. Works pretty well.

    When is the nxt event?

Thanks, Melensdad, but that is a bit far for me, especially for a weeknight event. I'm actually in North central to NE Indiana (Warsaw area). The shoot Saturday wasn't really out of range for me as I regularly drive to the Huntington area for a nice range. But I'll probably have to watch for a NC IN group!
