So, what was your happy meal prize?
Another buddy of mine just had an experience in Hobart with disarming, vehicle search, and detainment after showing LTCH and DL. his experience just happened last week. I think we need to educate Hobart PD.
I wouldn't rule that out. My buddy was actually concealing, but his shirt rode up and showed it. Then my buddy heard the click of the I latching or the holster behind him. Next thing he knew, 4 squad cars, 5 officers, some searching his vehicle, another running plates, another giving the third degree. He said it was crazy. He was having issues with his headlights. They were vibrating. He was pulled over for the head lights, then as he popped the hood to look with the officer, that's when he saw the gun and things went different. No neck stomping or anything, just vehicle search, and typical questions of where are you going, why do you have a gun, why do you have a rifle in your car, why do you have 200 rounds of ammo, are you planning world war three.
whys there another handgun in your center console. He said he was on the side of the road for over an hour, after the cop made him interlock his fingers behind his head and walk backwards to the cop, the. The PO took the gun out of the holster and unloaded it. The other cops unloaded everything out of his car, then after an hour. They told him he could go, but they were going to follow him home. So he had to put everything back in his car, and drive home with 4 squad cars following him. No citations or anything given.

Lesson learned, I do not notify or offer any additional information unless the gun is visible or I am lawfully asked. After that I started to study and learn what my rights actually are.
It is my understanding that, as of this year, the cop will know when he pulls you over. When they run the plates, they are able to see if the owner of the vehicle is a permit holder.

If you're really that worried about the police knowing if you have a LTCH just by running your plate, the simple fix is to set up a trust with your vehicles inside it. The trust owns them and it can't have a Larry.

I just think it's a bad idea. Most cop-killers aren't going to be licensed, so why put the nervous cops on edge and perhaps cause THEM to bring up the gun issue which otherwise needn't have come up.If you're really that worried about the police knowing if you have a LTCH just by running your plate, the simple fix is to set up a trust with your vehicles inside it. Negative. When they run your LICENSE it comes back with your LTCH. I made Frank a promise that everytime this popped up I would shoot it down. Unless it just changed recently, they cannot see it on your registration.
