    Another plus one for the Ruger 10-22. If you wanna stay under $200 a Mossberg 702 plinkster isn't bad. Still, I'd drop the extra cash and pick up the Ruger 10-22 . There are sooo many aftermarket items you can pick up for it. You can pretty much customize it at will to exactly your liking. The sky is the limit.

    After my experience, I'll never buy another 10/22. I have also fired a Savage model 62, and it surprised me. It had a nice light trigger, and felt pretty good overall.

    Ruger 10/22 seems to be the go to .22. My wife has one and shoots it well. She has had it for more then 10 years and never a single problem. Shes not the best at cleaning the rifle often either.
