I prefer revolvers to autos and single actions to double actions. I have several single action Rugers ranging from .22 to .480 Ruger as well as a NAA Pug and a couple of BFR's. I also like the Bond Arms derringers and have a few of those also.

That would be an interesting poll to add to the thread. My kids much prefer semi auto plastic and 1911's.

It all depends on how old you are and when you started shooting. All the shooters I know younger than me shoot Sigs and Glocks. My dad and uncles all shoot 1911s and revolvers. I'm somewhere in the middle.

I started shooting 4 years ago but still prefer revolvers to semi-autos, even though I have both. Maybe it's because when I was looking for my first gun, it was drilled into my head by salespeople that ladies should shoot revolvers because they are idiot-proof.

I've considered a Ruger .44 magnum Redhawk, but never felt the need with the Blackhawk, which can handle heavy loads approaching some moderate .44 magnum loads, even though it's SA.

I have a safe jammed with classic Smiths, including a pair of 1st Model Hand Ejectors, one in .44 Special and the other a .455 Webley British WWI contract gun. For a number of years I carried a brace of N frame Smiths as my defense guns but as I aged the weight of the guns and their ammo got to wearing me down too much.

The better half and I just returned from a meandering auto tour of the Far West which included a stay in Yosemite. Since that region and other states on the itinerary boast bears the size of SUVs I carried not only my 1911 but my Model 29 with 4" barrel. I weighed as much as a bank vault but I was prepared for all comers regardless of how many legs might be providing their locomotion.

It's great to see this many revolver shooters. Hopefully, some of you can check out this month's ICORE match down in Brookston (Wildcat Valley). They are encouraging snubnose shooters to come out with special low entry fees. Other revolvers are welcome too, they just want to get a bunch of shooters with snubies to shoot. Sounds like fun, so I'm shooting my 3" S&W 66.

I don't usually get to that match, since my club holds our cowboy matches on the same day. I think I'll come out and shoot this match though. Get those revolvers out of the safe and do a little shooting with them.

I have several. But I will admit I don't shoot them as well as some of my other guns. I have been telling myself I don't need one of those new GP100s in 44 spl. Or one of those Wiley Clapp GPs with the 3" barrel. But my will is weak...

I saw one of those GP's, definitely tempting!

Was at gun show yesterday and the Blackhawks and Model 10, 15, 27's were my only interest. Only saw one Sp 101 maybe a couple of Gp 100's. The prices seemed awfully high though.

Quite the collection. I only have 8 revolvers myself. I posted a pic on 6/20/13 of mine. The only change is, I no longer have the 1858 Remington replica, and I added a Ruger SP101 in .357 with 2.25 in barrel in stainless. I was shooting one of the Super Blackhawks Saturday. Still makes me smile after shooting.

I would love to go to that or a cowboy shoot. Too bad they are all on Sunday mornings. I have a standing engagement Sunday mornings.
